elviticus #1 Posted October 5, 2006 OK- so I bought a Neo Geo with 2 sticks, a regular controller and 3 games: Fatal Fury Special, Fatal Fury 3 and Top Golf (or something). I got it for $250 shipped - a good deal, I thought. Anyway, it arrived today, all looked good, but the system has NO SOUND.... ugghhhhh.... So I'm reaching out for help to any who have or know about the Neo Geo AES. Some questions: Would it be worth trying a new AV cable - and how hard to get/where to look for one? Any other ideas for a fix? Ok, only 2 questions I guess. Judging by the price this stuff seems to go for, I kind of think it's an okay deal either way.... At least I'll have plenty of controllers and 3 pretty good games if I have to get another unit. Thanks in advance.

Dusk2600 #3 Posted October 6, 2006 did you try wiggling around the carts? i know it sounds stupid but my shitty neo geo did the same thing... well with mvs carts, it may be the phantom 1 converter i have, idk. Goodluck.
masschamber #4 Posted October 8, 2006 try cleaning the pins, no sound is one of the problems that dirty connections will cause
BONK #5 Posted October 8, 2006 Buy the cheap mod kit. it gives you the stero jacks and S-Video. unless theres a problem with the sound card on the board that could be it 2. But maybe the mod will fix it but im not sure.

JB #8 Posted October 8, 2006 It's not the official site. It's just the people that got the URL.
FABombjoy #9 Posted October 8, 2006 If you're not getting any sound from the A/V connector OR from the headphone jack, the mod kit won't fix the problem.
+Cobra Kai #10 Posted October 9, 2006 (edited) There's a volume slide control on the very front of the system. Make sure that is pushed all the way to the right. Edited October 9, 2006 by Gunstarhero
ubersaurus #11 Posted October 10, 2006 Have you tried the headphone jack? If not, make sure the headphone volume slide is up some ways and try that. It may just be the AV sound that is mucked up.
elviticus #12 Posted October 10, 2006 (edited) Nope- no sound from the headphones either, unfortunately. Tried turning up the slider too. Edited October 10, 2006 by elviticus
