DracIsBack
I was just reading the description of the 7800 on Wikipedia. I do think it does a very good job but I have issue with this one statement: "The general consensus is the 7800's architecture is essentially just an Atari 2600 with a slightly better CPU, more system RAM, and an advanced graphics chip (MARIA). " Yeah -- it's just a 2600 except -- The way it does graphics is entirely different -- The CPU is different -- It 32 times the RAM memory -- It can access significantly more data at one time. Those are some pretty significant "differences". You could almost apply the same statement to the NES, and XBox for crying out loud!
Dauber
If what I understand is correct, the only thing you can say about the 7800 that's the same as the 2600, other than the controller ports, is that it uses the same audio chip, no? Heee heeeee!! I'm getting a 7800!!! Now to look into putting Jr. on eBay.
DanBoris
"The general consensus is the 7800's architecture is essentially just an Atari 2600 with a slightly better CPU, more system RAM, and an advanced graphics chip (MARIA). " That is a pretty stupid statement. If you say the systems are the same except for the cpu, RAM and graphics chip, what else is left! Of course the beauty of Wikipedia is that we can change that statement if we like. Any suggestions on what it should say?
EricBall
I've taken a stab at updating (and enhancing) it.
jbanes
I've taken a stab at updating (and enhancing) it. Nice work! I think your description did a much better job of nailing the 7800's strengths and weaknesses than the previous one. In particular, you made the issues with the "everything is a sprite" design very clear.

SeaGtGruff
Hmm... I've fiddled with the access rights. Let me know if I've gotten it working now. Is this working for anyone? All it does for me is *act* like it's loading something, but nothing ever comes up. At least before, the login screen came up right away.
