tenoch #1 Posted October 9, 2006 I found this NES Cart today for 2 bucks. It has 52 in 1 on the front with 5 pictures and on the back it has the list of all 52 games in it. I don't collect NES that much, but it looked different than what I've seen out there so I picked it up. Has anybody heard of one of these? Thanks -h. Student Driver #3 Posted October 9, 2006 It's not an Action 52?
Hounder #4 Posted October 9, 2006 It's a common pirate game. No it's not Action 52. Alot of NES pirates will have labels on them listing all the games on the cart.
Tompkins #5 Posted October 9, 2006 (edited) I own a cart called "76 in 1" The great thing about it, is that it has NO repeats of games. Most multicarts have repeats of games, like, 5 Super Mario Bros games, which are exactly the same, and have stupid namess like Mario+ or mario fast. Mine, on the other hand, actually has 76 games. There are some obscure famicom games on it too. All the games are japanese, anyway, but there are some really cool gems on it, that have never really been heard of before. Hounder #6 Posted October 9, 2006 That's the one thing about pirates I don't like. The fact that they might "have" 100 games on them but really after you factor out all the doubles you really have only 10. Some pirates are unique though and really have the said amount of games on the cart. Those are the ones that go for alot more money and worth more. tenoch #7 Posted October 9, 2006 Its an chinese cart. post pics and also what do you want for it? I figured it was a chinese cart. The animation on the cover seems funny compared to the game. I will post a pict when I get home to night. -h.
Hounder #8 Posted October 9, 2006 Not necessarily Chinese. Most pirates were made over in either Asia or Europe. Some come from Brazil and other regions as well. The labels almost all look the same or very similar to each other at least. When you post a pic I will probably be able to tell you more about it
Tompkins #9 Posted October 9, 2006 It has japanesse rad racer box art. They didn't even bother getting rid of the "R" in the corner
Hounder #10 Posted October 9, 2006 Typical Asian pirate cart. I've never seen this particular one though. Nice find man. Think you could get me a scan of the cart at some point? I'd like to add it into the nintendoage.com database (I'm one of the editors) when we get ready to add the pirates

Hounder #12 Posted October 9, 2006 I know someone that will pay big bucks for those Supervision complete games and most definitely for that Cartridge Story (I). He's been looking for that cart for some time now as he already has II and III. Let me know if you want to sell and I'll give you his email address

Here's a picture of some of my MultiCarts: Click this link for a bigger pic. http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h128/tec..._MultiCarts.jpg I have that 31 in 1 cart you have pictured in the lower right corner but I've NEVER been able to get it to work in my NES after cleanings of the cart and NES and 72-pin replacements. Worked fine in my buddy's deck though.

madhatter667 #16 Posted October 9, 2006 Where do you guys dig these up at? One of those would be an interesting addition to the collection, provided that it is one of the ones that actually have said amount of games on it. I am guessing that an accurate translation/naming of the games is a long shot? I have a famiclone with a bunch of built in games, and there are a bunch of repeats, and some of the names aren't accurate. The good thing is that the clone does have a cartridge slot on the bottom. I also have a real Twin Famicom, and a Micro Genius clone... but these see less game play, as I am more worried about messing either of them up. One is hard to come by, and costly when you do, and the other is just an obscure clone that I like for the novelty factor of it being one of the better built ones by my reading. The world of pirate video games is a strange one.

The world of pirate video games is a strange one. Yes a strange confusing one indeed.... I've picked up all of my multicarts in the wild. Every once in while I'd find them mixed in with some other NES games, typically at a flea market or second hand store. Often the seller seemed a little confused about them, and sometimes made references to the game being "as is". This may have been due to the fact that as mentioned earlier in the thread, these multis can be difficult to get to work (which is probably why they were being sold/traded) Without a new replacement connector on the regular NES, getting any regular game to work can be tough sometimes...with a multi like the SuperVisions shown it is even worse. I think there are differences in the thicknesses and construction of the pirate PCB's (maybe someone can verify this). The Famicom multis with the NES adapter have their own problems since the adapter adds another set of problematic connection points. You mention the Famiclones consoles. I have several very cheaply contructed units, and I actually get some OK results on them by using them with the Famicom multis with the NES adapters removed. The Famicom multis fit in the cart slot very snug, and either work right away or not at all. I'm sure some of you must have some more detailed insight into the world of the NES pirates and their compatibility? Maybe there is a web guide or something somewhere? bones #18 Posted October 10, 2006 Here's my (meager) collection of NES multi-carts. The 110-in-1 on the right is a SuperVision, the name and logo is etched into the back of the cartridge case. It even has an end label, cool cart. The 52-in-1 on the left has the games listed on the back of the cart on a sticker. From what I've read about this one it's also a SuperVision, just doesn't say it anywhere on the cart. Both carts do have some repeat games, but there's also a lot of titles that weren't released in the US. Definitely fun to toy around with on a rainy day. I found both locally in the past few months at flea markets in the area.
madhatter667 #19 Posted October 10, 2006 My cheapest famiclone is one of the N64 controller styled units. It works well for what it is, and I have had great success with getting my Famicom carts to play on it. I like it because it can run on battery power, and wall power, which is convenient depending on where you plug in at. What I don't like are the multiple SMB "games" that are on it. I also find it a little disheartening that some of the games have poorly translated, or flat out made up names. I would have much rather seen no effort on that part, and been able to identify the games by the japanese titles. Still not bad for a Xmas present from a friend who was hard up on cash, and picked up something game related because she knew I liked video games from all eras. She totally didn't know what it was when she bought it, only that it had built in games. I didn't know what it was until about a year ago, and I have had this unit since '03! If she had known what it was, she might have nabbed one for herself, being a fan of all things Japanese (sort of exocentric in my opinion).
