Xbox 360 kiosk downloads ... alternate method?

Recommended Posts

I finally picked up an Xbox 360 Memory Unit and spent this afternoon making the rounds to several stores, sticking it in their kiosk and downloading whatever content they had available. I came away with a few Ridge Racer 6 cars, four Dead Rising costume keys, and a couple of Dashboard themes.

It seems that in the past, there have been other more exclusive downloads which I have missed, such as store-themed Burnout Revenge cars at specific retailers. The kiosk discs that housed these downloads are long gone. Is there any alternate source of downloading these files?

They're not DRM'd in any way and were given away free in the first place, so I have no qualms about finding a web-based download for them which I could transfer to my Memory Unit with one of those USB adapter thingies ... but I can't find these files anywhere.

I'm specifically looking for the Burnout cars, but there may be plenty of other stuff out there I just don't know about. Any help?

Yeah I definately remember the Burnout cars. I had considered picking up a card just for the purpose of snagging that extra content, but then decided it was too much cash for what amounted to new skins. There wasn't much particularly great about the ad cars you could get from Live. (Yellowbook, Monster Cable etc...) Still, you would think that someone would have figured out a way to distribute that new content from those other stores, I just haven't heard about it.

The ones from GameStop, Circuit City, Best Buy, etc.?

I had forgotten about this issue, I guess one could just acquire all the Xbox Experience kiosk discs on eBay in order to get most of the content, but it sure would be tough to track down discs from specific retailers to find these cars ... if they're not on Live.

Yeah there were about 7 cars including a Monster Cable, and the Yellowbook car that have been available via Live for a long long time, but the cars he is talking about were only available from store kiosks.
