Atari name for Business Park (Subdivision) Ends 10.20.06

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone, I've been asked to name a subdivision here in Arkansas. After having gone through about thirty names that sound just like every other subdivision in the world I thought it would be interesting to see if there was a way to somehow slip an Atari game name or icon into a name. Any thoughts? Of course, the meeting is at 8:00 am so if you've got ideas speak now. If your subdivision name is chosen and I will certainly get photos for you and exclaim my extreme thanks.

I've got the usual names covered, I would like to somehow dedicate this to Atari, if possible. Let me know what you've got.

That's pretty good :) I just noticed this game Lily's Woods, that's not too bad either :)

Oh and I'm going to give them the majority of these names. I say majority because I obviously can't hand them anything negative or lewd.

Quadrun, how do you define that in terms of subdivision? Like Quad Run, similar to something like Quail Run? I'm not sure I can define a Quad unless this is broken into Quadrants but consider it in the running as Quad Run at least.

Haha, I hope they pick Yarusso Estates! That's great. I'm not sure I should use Kepone: Kepone (also known as Chlordecone) was a carcinogenic insecticide related to mirex, used between 1966 and 1975 in the USA for ant and roach baits.

VanDespi Acres

Guess what that's an acronym for...

Space Invaders :)

Correct! And thanks for not pointing out that I asked for an acronym but meant an anagram...

OMEGA DIVE --> VIDEO GAME

VITAI IMAGE ROAD --> ATARI VIDEO GAME (interpretation could be "picture of my life" road)

MARIA GATE --> ATARI GAME

MASSIVE DOGY MEET --> VIDEO GAME SYSTEM

ASTRAY ITEM --> ATARI SYSTEM

VISA CART --> ATARI VCS

CANVASSED PIER --> SPACE INVADERS (also CADAVERS PINES, and CADAVERS PENIS but I don't think they'll get through the selection committee)

DART VENUE -> ADVENTURE

ALIAS RATTLE --> ATARI STELLA

Anagrams are fun!

Cheers

A

Wow, nice anagrams :) I just noticed Cadavers Penis, I'm rolling on the floor here haha. Well, the meeting is over and they were a little confused at Quad Run, but still liked it so I think we have a chance here. We also now have until Friday and a change of direction. This is no longer a subdivision it's now an industrial Park, as in, business offices. This place will be midway between Fayetteville and Rogers, Arkansas and close to the airport. I will have the usual names covered but any Atari related names would be fantastic. Let's dedicate this to the greatness of Atari.

Collene Drive. I'm not sure I understand that one? Pam, I get though :) Remember though these need to names of a business center now. Think In the vain of

Pitfall Parkway

QBert Centre (notice the switched re, they love that stuff :) )

Collene Drive. I'm not sure I understand that one?

Coleen, I think, was the codename for the 800 computer. Pam was the 5200 codename. (And Candy was the 400 computer.)

Amidar Park, Enduro Park? Is it near a freeway? Because then you could call it Freeway Center, without them never knowing about the Atari connection.

I think the name should be identifiable as something Atari or being derived from Atari. If the name is too obscure as in an annagram or an acronym, then the meaning will be lost. I still think naming the area after a programmer or game character or even game is the best way without the name being obvious to those who aren't in the Atari realm.

Here's what I have come up with so far:

Robinett Castle Estates -(named after programmer of adventure and mentions castle in game)

Yorgie Landing -(One of the Dragons in Adventure)

Grundle Gardens -(Dragon in Adventure)

Rhindle Greenway Estates -(Green Dragon in Adventure)

Cpuwiz Drive -(cpuwiz of Atari Age fame intregrating a Harddrive into the name)

Froggo Freeway -(infamous maker of bad pirate Atari games)

Custer Crescent -(The infamous main character in Custer's Revenge)

Kepone Landing -(The white guard ghost in Cyplix I and Cyplix II)

Kepone Crescent -(see above reference)

Mystique Memories -(maker of some off games for the Atari 2600)

Warshaw Wells -(Named after HSW of ET fame)

Yarusso Estates -(One of the Founders of the Atari Age site and responsible for the revitilization of the Atari hobby)

Estate Terrace -(E.T.)

Bi! Bi! Biways -(The notoriously bad Bi! Bi! games that was later parodied as the same name featuring Boy George in Red Lipstick: Yikes!)

Mystique Memorial Gardens -(maker of Atari Games)

Custers Landing -(Custer's Revenge)

Warshaw Greenway -(refers to HSW and the greenway he smoked while working for Atari)
