What's a Compro Videoplexer?

Recommended Posts

My Dad's friend recently gave me an Atari 2600 and Intellivision systems. Also in the box was a contraption called a Videoplexer. Does anyone know how this works, I have no idea.

Here are some pictures of it, it seems to dock with another system(?). Thanks.

You plug the Videoplexer cartridge and power output into the 2600 and the power supply into the Videoplexer. Voila, now you can use the buttons to select the cartridges you insert into the Videoplexer. :)

Nice find, those aren't exactly common.

THAT'S PRETTY NEAT!!!! (thanks CPUWIZ!).

After playing the nine Atari 2600 games I was given, i'm embarking on buiding a 2600 collection now.

The console is the 6 switch wood grain model and it's very clean with a crisp picture (see image).

Thanks again!

That's pretty cool. Reminds me a lot of the GameBrain, and probably does the same thing, which is plug into the 2600 and allow you to plug in multiple games at once.

But this one uses a very '70s membrane touch pad to select the cartridge to play.

COOL, no moving parts then. They keys for the GameBrain is kinda cool, retroish, but I always worry that one will break and it won't work anymore.
