jpfalcon2003 #1 Posted October 28, 2006 I saw some screenshots of this game and it isn't too bad. Does anyone know if it's possible now to be able to make a more updated version of pool with all the balls, different colors, stripes, solids and all.lol or numbers. Foxsolo2000 #2 Posted October 28, 2006 I would say it si doubtful but there are a lot of talented guys on here who could prove me wrong. I have always liked this game despite the handful of balls available
supercat #3 Posted October 28, 2006 I saw some screenshots of this game and it isn't too bad. Does anyone know if it's possible now to be able to make a more updated version of pool with all the balls, different colors, stripes, solids and all.lol or numbers. The Atari 2600 is limited to showing two freely-mobile freely-shapable objects per scan line, along with three restricted-shape objects. In "set up" mode, the balls are placed in such fashion to avoid this restriction. Once you make your shot, the balls flicker because the machine can only show two of them at a time. It may be possible to use the restricted-shaped objects to make 'striped' balls. If there were enough CPU time, this would allow for 5 balls on screen with no flicker, or 10 with 30hz flicker (four solid; six striped). Not enough for a full 15+1 game, but something like nine-ball might be possible.
