jpfalcon2003 #1 Posted October 29, 2006 It certainly wasn't Donkey Kong.lol In my opinion I'd have to say it's Roc 'n Rope.
ntavio #2 Posted October 29, 2006 Time Pilot or Frontline...........
PressureCooker2600 #3 Posted October 29, 2006 Mouse Trap
diggs130 #4 Posted October 29, 2006 I've always been partial to Mr.Do since back in the day.
ATARIPITBULL #5 Posted October 29, 2006 I guess Time Pilot because it was another game I loved to play at the arcade.
Lord Helmet #6 Posted October 29, 2006 Mr. Do is fun. I like Looping also (though it's pretty hard). I actually enjoy a pretty fair number of the Coleco games.
Vic George 2K3 #7 Posted October 29, 2006 Smurf Rescue is the best.
Inky #8 Posted October 29, 2006 Mouse Trap, without a doubt, but I've also been partial to Carnival .
BassGuitari #10 Posted October 29, 2006 Zaxxon. Sure, it's not identical to the arcade version (which I've never played), but I find it the most enjoyable of the Coleco games. Honestly, I kinda like Donkey Kong...in smallish doses, at least.
jpfalcon2003 #11 Posted October 30, 2006 Smurf would be 2nd on my list
+Omegamatrix #12 Posted October 30, 2006 Ladybug. Someone had to say it.
Room 34 #13 Posted October 30, 2006 I've always liked Venture best. Of course, there are several I've never played. But I think Venture holds up well. It's one of the few games that can still get me just as anxious as I was as a 9-year-old playing it.
Recycled #14 Posted October 30, 2006 I've always liked Venture best. Of course, there are several I've never played. But I think Venture holds up well. It's one of the few games that can still get me just as anxious as I was as a 9-year-old playing it. I have to go with Venture as well. I played a round of it last night....first time in a while. I enjoyed it. Anyway....I get bored with Mousetrap; although I still like it to a certain extent. Defeniately a "c" for me. I don't own Mr. Do! yet...so I can't comment on that one. jboypacman #15 Posted October 30, 2006 Venture is my pick. Its a pretty good translation of the Arcade game.
Tempest #16 Posted October 30, 2006 Probably Venture. It was done by the Commavid guys. Tempest
candiru #17 Posted October 30, 2006 My favorite is Time Pilot, followed closely by Venture.
Godzilla #18 Posted October 30, 2006 for me its front line by a mile. that game still impresses me on the 2600 and i still prefer it to the arcade. time pilot & zaxxon were reallygood too.
jerrykurtz #19 Posted October 30, 2006 Smurf, then Carnival, then Zaxxon, then Donkey Kong.
Rik #20 Posted October 31, 2006 I'd say"DONKEY KONG",there's just something about the 2600 version that I find just totally irresistably addicting,I love this version, its my favorite!,can't get the the sound effect when MARIO gets killed out of my head, awesome!!!!!!!!
kirin jensen #21 Posted October 31, 2006 I'd have to say Carnival, because it's hard to turn over but doable.
shadow460 #22 Posted October 31, 2006 Probably Donkey Kong. I'd say Front Line, except for the horrendous collision detection.
Christophero Sly #23 Posted October 31, 2006 (edited) Even at their best, the Coleco titles are mediocre. I'd rank them this way. Playable Carnival Frontline Rock-n-Rope Smurf: RIGC Time Pilot Venture Meh... Donkey Kong Mr. Do! Donkey Kong Jr. Zaxxon I haven't spent enough time playing Mouse Trap to rank it, and I don't own Berenstain Bears or Smurfs Save the Day. Recycled #24 Posted October 31, 2006 Thanks to this thread I'm on a Venture kick now. I think it holds up pretty well.
Lord Helmet #25 Posted October 31, 2006 Yeah, I forgot to mention Venture earlier. I really like that game, as well as several of the great hacks that are based on it like Venture 2 and Wolfenstein VCS.
