Stubborn 7800 power switch

Hi,just wondering,just how hard to you have to press the power botton on the 7800 for it to power up?weird question huh?its just that I have to press REALLY hard for the light to light up,and the title screen to show up,I have to press so hard I'm afraid I'll break the damn thing,I have to do the same thing for the RESET switch on my INTV,which I heard is normal for the INTV,I tried opening it up and cleaning the switches also,same prob,is this a known problem with the 7800?thanx.

You shouldn't have to press hard at all. If you're having to apply a lot of pressure, the switch might simply be worn out. I've seen instructions somewhere on how to open it up and clean it, but if you're comfortable with soldering, it's probably a lot easier to replace it altogether. It's a fairly common switch that I've seen in Mouser's catalog for a couple bucks.

Mine is weird too. I press power and it comes on but half the time it just goes out again. Then, when I press it to turn it off once it starts working, it just resets instead. Lately I've been pressing it to one side and it works for me.
