vdub_bobby #3 Posted October 31, 2006 You forgot the C64, Apple II, MSX, Spectrum, TRS-80, and PC versions. Also: are you talking about the 1-level Pitfall II (2600) or the 2-level Pitfall II (A8, 5200, etc.)? Which versions have the extra level?
BassGuitari #4 Posted October 31, 2006 Definately the Atari 5200 version. Good Lord, that second world is tough.
rjchamp3 #5 Posted October 31, 2006 I didn't add those because gameplay is the same rate as far as I was concerned
vdub_bobby #6 Posted October 31, 2006 I didn't add those because gameplay is the same rate as far as I was concerned Huh? That doesn't make sense, because the 2600, 5200, and A8 versions are basically identical, the only real difference is the controller (5200), and the 2600 doesn't have the 2nd level. Uzumaki #8 Posted October 31, 2006 I voted for 5200 because of the wonky analog controller makes the game a bit harder to play than any other platform that uses digital controllers. AFAIK only A8 and 5200 has the second part and that one is ***ing hard compared to first part. bug that moves around a lot, bat that can fly diagonally across a few levels, and plenty of one way routes makes this one hard to solve. Video #10 Posted November 1, 2006 The 5200 is obviously the hardest one, for the controller alone (how many other systems will have the controller regularly 'go bad' right in the middle of your game? ) The 2600 is the easiest of the classics, probably due to it being my most played copy (How about the SMS version which doesn't resemble the older Pitfall2's at all?) Though, Pitfall 2 lends itself rather well to being played with a pad, or thumb stick, and the absolutely easiest would be the anthology for PS2, as it's got the best modern Dpad.
