Night Driver #1 Posted October 31, 2006 I've got an original dinasaur of a Sega Genesis, with a different size and shape from my other 3 Genesis systems. My Original Sega Game Converter only fits onto this beast- not the others. Problem is, although it and the converter definately work, the picture is split in half like the vertical hold is tweaked. (Reminds me of watching scrambled HBO as a kid... w/o the boobies.) Is there any way for a very novice electrician to fix this? Thanks, -Night Driver! (Reminds me of watching scrambled HBO as a kid... w/o the boobies.) Is there any way for a very novice electrician to fix this? I remember having this problem with my original Genesis and a Zenith TV. The Zenith TV's didn't have a vertical hold so I had to send the console to Sega for them to a chip to it. It's been a long time so my memories may be sketchy.

Night Driver #7 Posted November 5, 2006 I still don't get it!! Why is my Genesis splitting the screen??? I'm guessing it's broken. Don't tell him that! Now it won't sell for as much! Ha Ha! Nice jab. Yes... I did just sell off the bulk of my "museum." Obelix was the biggest money maker. However, I kept my 7800, 2600, NES, and SNES... keeping all of the best games for each. So, I went from having seven boxes of stuff to having three boxes of stuff- and $500. I'm just not that into SEGA. If I could figure out how to clean or fix this problem I probably would sell this system, too. It seems like it's ancient enough for somebody to be really excited about, though. No ideas on how to fix it??
Night Driver #8 Posted November 5, 2006 Maybe it's haunted http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...&hl=haunted Narutofan- I just went to that EBay site you linked to... HOW ANNOYING! The whole page is in big, bright caps to show creepy urgency, I suppose. It cracks me up that people fall for stupid shit like this, the 'Virgin Mary' plaster.. the Jesus Christ Grilled Cheese Sandwich. When I sold off a bunch of Atari lots last week I titled one LOT of 20 ATARI 2600 GAMES- LOOKS LIKE CHRIST ON A CROSS!! I think it sold for $3.51. People must not be that into Jesus. If you're interested in Salvation, check it out. (It's FREAKING UNCANNY!) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...p;rd=1&rd=

Sorta like Combat carts. No ideas on how to fix it?? Sadly, no.
Bruce Tomlin #10 Posted November 6, 2006 Try another TV set first... there's a chance that somehow its video sync is just a little off and your TV is too picky.
