An Hour with Wild Guman....

Recommended Posts

Maybe I am sick, but I just blew and entire solid hour playing Wild Gunman (NES) on the Gang setting. This game is just stupid stupid fun. Maybe it is because I never had the gun as a kid and missed out on all the gun games, maybe it is my affinity for Back to the Future, something. But I love Wild Gunman!!!!

Any other Gun-nuts out there?

Sort of but I prefer Sega Master System. their light gun is a bit more responsive and accurate plus they don't sound like broken spring every time it's fired. :D

And some of the gun games for the SMS actually don't suck.

I didnt have NES as a kid (I'm 35) but recently got a Yobo & Zapper along w/ Hogan's Alley. Still want Duck Hunt (probably find it in the wild before long) & would also like Wild Gunman.

Yeah, I picked one up awhile back and did the same thing. It IS dumb, yet it is pretty fun. That and Hogan's Alley and Gumshoe are about the only light gun games I like, actually. Who says dumb ain't fun?

Any Gotcha!theVideoGame fans here? I bought it recently after discovering that is was co-op and my curiousity got the better of me. Broke it out at a party and we had a blast. Great fun!

Freedom Force owns you all! It's deadly serious and mercilessly hard... the terrorists in this game make the cardboard thugs in Hogan's Alley look like wimps in comparison.

Gotcha! is a fun game but unless you are really good at multitasking, it's very hard to play that game single. Gotcha! is basically the paintball war and to win you need to capture opponent's flag while avoiding enemy fires.

I still consider the best lightgun game ever designed to be Crossbow. Too bad the NES didn't get a release of that one. Gumshoe is a bit similar, but much longer stages from what I remember.

Gotcha is meant to be played co-op as far as I'm concerned. I can't imagine being able to play it alone -- way too much multi-tasking, as you say!

Freedom Force is definatly the best light gun game. You better have an itchy trigger finger like me. I can barely get past level 3. Its intense.

Hogans Alley and Wild Gunman are my other two favs.....I've sat and played Wild Gunman for about 45 minutes on quick draw mode and got my score to roll over.

Gotcha! is pretty good for a quick fix. So is Mechanized Attack and Operation Wolf although a controller is a lot better to use on them.

As for SMS zapper games, Safari Hunt owns.....blows Duck Hunt into shreds. Gangster Town is good but hard as hell (i think its because my zapper might be a little mis-aligned).

Marksman shooting never gets old. except i dont care much for trap shooting.

I've yet to acquire a copy of Wanted!.....hoping to snag one soon.

Best shooter on SMS thats not a zapper game, two words......Dead Angle

You guys notice that out of all the NES games that will be available for the Wii at launch, NONE of them are light gun titles? What's up with that? You'd think that Nintendo would want to make the most of that remote controller, but nooooo...
