rheffera #1 Posted November 3, 2006 Hi mates, im in australia and alot of my activision games are the hes versions. I know HES did some fairly illegal things like piss off nientndo by making unlicensed games for NES, but did they have activisions permission to distrubute thier 2600 games like this? +Omegamatrix #2 Posted November 3, 2006 I believe they were legal. Rom Hunter will know for sure.
Mayhem #3 Posted November 3, 2006 I'm 99.9% certain it was legal. They had the rights from Activision to distribute their C64 cartridge games in Australia, so I can't see why it couldn't also have happened to the 2600.
Rom Hunter #4 Posted November 4, 2006 HES got permission from Imagic and Activision to release their games down under.
Foxsolo2000 #5 Posted November 4, 2006 I remember we had this debate last year. Alwyas surprised me that Hes got the rights when so many other companies were content to simply rip off other companies games
rheffera #6 Posted November 4, 2006 It is a bit surprising considering some of the stuff they did. I guess they did it to avoid law suits? after all they wernt some small taiwan company that made pirates
