HES....License to thrill?

Recommended Posts

Hi mates, im in australia and alot of my activision games are the hes versions. I know HES did some fairly illegal things like piss off nientndo by making unlicensed games for NES, but did they have activisions permission to distrubute thier 2600 games like this?

I'm 99.9% certain it was legal. They had the rights from Activision to distribute their C64 cartridge games in Australia, so I can't see why it couldn't also have happened to the 2600.

I remember we had this debate last year. Alwyas surprised me that Hes got the rights when so many other companies were content to simply rip off other companies games ;)

It is a bit surprising considering some of the stuff they did. I guess they did it to avoid law suits? after all they wernt some small taiwan company that made pirates :)
