BassGuitari #2 Posted November 3, 2006 You've only been collecting for five months? Good Lord, that's a lot of games! I didn't have that many for at least a year or two of collecting. Very nice!
jpfalcon2003 #3 Posted November 3, 2006 awesome for 5 months. My 5 month starting point wasn't anywhere near that.
Uzumaki #4 Posted November 3, 2006 Wow I'd be lucky if I saw that many different titles in a year, let alone in a few months like you did. I know of one place that have about 100 2600 carts but who needs 20 Space Invaders, 20 Missle COmmands, 20 Pac Mans, etc when they won't go below a fiver each. There is another place I need to check out that *may* have many games but no idea yet. Good job on your collection.
+atari2600land #5 Posted November 3, 2006 I've been collecting for a year and I don't have nearly as many games as you do! Great job! (Where I live, Atari 2600 games are *very* hard to come by.)
jboypacman #6 Posted November 3, 2006 Very nice collection for only 5 months much better than mine.Nice to see that the young kids our out there collecting.

rheffera #8 Posted November 4, 2006 (edited) Thanks all. i also have a Crossbow, battlezone ( Red label), skatebordin, bomb wall defender, zaxxon, tutankham, 2 pack special, donkey kong, river raid 2 and Joust pending arrival in the mail A significantly large portion of my collection was found locally---one game store alone had somethingl ike 30 games which he sold to me at $2.50(AU) each, then when it all ran dry locally i used ebay. madhatter667 #9 Posted November 5, 2006 Damn, you've been busy. I only had about 20 atari games for about....16 years or so... then I decided that there was a lot more out there, and there really was no excuse for not collecting more. It would take me time to seriously post my collection (I have so far catalogued the games, and snapped some pics of them, but not hardware). Looks like you're having fun. That's what matters the most.
PressureCooker2600 #10 Posted November 5, 2006 nice to have some of the younger generation appreciate the classics instead of bowing down to every new system that comes down the crapshoot
JacobZu7zu7 #11 Posted November 5, 2006 nice to have some of the younger generation appreciate the classics instead of bowing down to every new system that comes down the crapshoot Yeah I agree. Well done reheffra. I must admit I was very drawn to Atari 2600 back in 1991, when it was at its least cool, and least valueable (so it seemed) there was no vintage then, just old and new. New NES, was very popular and Atari was 50cents at a yard sale. Too bad, these are mostly on eBay now. But I REALLY like eBay, just not the shipping cost. Keep on with the 80's gems! Foxsolo2000 #12 Posted November 5, 2006 Hell of an achievement my friend, all that in just 5 months. Very nice
rheffera #13 Posted November 5, 2006 Yeah i thought i did good..and i dont know where i pulled the cash from to get it all either but im glad i have em
Foxsolo2000 #14 Posted November 5, 2006 $250 AU dollars is still a ridicously cheap price for all that. I am almost envious of you
Shroo-man #15 Posted November 11, 2006 Nice over 120 carts! Im 21 and have just bought 47 carts for $55 including shipping and there is around 5 or 6 doubles at least in there. I also live in Adelaide I'd jsut like to know what stores you go to find carts? I havent seen any in second hand shops Im planning on going to the Gepps Cross Market at one point if i can wake up early enough. I have some faded memories of being in year 1 or 2 and going to David Jones in the city and seeing Atari, NES and SNES games all on the shelves - those were the days! jpfalcon2003 #16 Posted November 11, 2006 Up to 192 carts now. That's mostly for the 2600 and 7800 though. Only a few 5200 ones. My 7800 collection is completely boxed, and almost all of my 2600 collection is boxed as well.
rheffera #17 Posted November 11, 2006 I got 90% of em from Gametraders stores and Cash converters... i got lots of stuff from interstate gametraders by using thier site to list all the 2600 stuff they got and then just e-mail the stores from there... i managed to find one store that had heaps and was selling at $5 each and had tons of rarities ( gameworld airlock) and only charged $5 for postage no matter what and the postage was express! great guy and he gave me a free gift with every purchase. only just recently have i begun pulling stuff off ebay( accounts for 10% of my collection)
starwardude #18 Posted November 13, 2006 (edited) I've been collecting for a year and I don't have nearly as many games as you do! Great job! (Where I live, Atari 2600 games are *very* hard to come by.) Sounds VERY familiar. Only one place that I know of that sells any old games. Everywhere else has at best N64 games agewise. Their collection is mostly very common games. Some fun ones, but they've got plenty of dead games (i think the previous owners purposely broke some of them- a Kool-Aid Man doesn't magically get a bunch of cuts at the connection edge through the plastic). Unfortunate really- some otherwise fun games wrecked. EDIT: 11/15/06: Well I just found out about an hour ago that that one place is no longer existant...Woo-hoo...
