gdanko #1 Posted November 4, 2006 Is there a WHDload equivalent for the ST? For those who don't know, WHDload on Amiga allows you to play all of your floppy-based games off the hard disk. Or do you even need to do this on Atari? Can you copy the files to the hard disk to play them?
ggn #2 Posted November 4, 2006 Hi there, Have a look here http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...c=94661&hl= for some answers But there's only 2 of us working on this project, so it will take some time as you imagine
marcfrick2112 #3 Posted November 4, 2006 (edited) Hi, AFAIK, there is no WHDLoad equal for the ST. There should be one, I am almost positive that ST (esp. early games) did not support Hard drives in any way. It was quite rare even for the Amiga, early on.... Hopefully, some super ST programmer out there will write some 'WHDLoad-like' program for the ST.... I am an Amiga fan myself, But I remember GoldRunner, and Starglider on the ST,.... P.S. WHDLoad does not enable ALL floppy-based games to run...There are different versions/distributions of certain games that would not work....e.g. Turrican. Some originals I own STILL can't be installed with WHDLoad....(The Plague) Marc Edited November 4, 2006 by marcfrick2112
