godzillajoe #1 Posted November 5, 2006 I know it follows the original Japanese Donkey Kong where the elevators come before the girders but why is that? Was this game programmed outside the US where players were used to ramps, girders, ramps then elevators. It's always bugged me when playing. I wish there was a way to change it to the "normal" way
Kid Ice #2 Posted November 6, 2006 The screen where you "defeat" Donkey Kong is the girders stage so it makes sense to me that it would come last in a "wave". Actually I always thought it was strange that you beat DK in the second level.

I wish there was a way to change it to the "normal" way Well, you're right in that it IS the normal way from the jap original like you said (minus the conveyer belt stage). But then you say something that isn't right... players outside the u.s. (like me) were used to the order: ramps, conveyor, elevator, girders. Repeat. That IS the normal DK stage progression everywhere, except the states. These days though I do prefer the U.S. states progression.. gives it more variety I think
