Wireless joysticks aren't as bad as I recall

Recommended Posts

Got a set of NOS ones (off-brand) at VGXPO this past weekend and I tried them out on Saturday. Not a bad set of sticks. I recall them being MUCH less accurate back in the day. Do you think it could be that modern batteries are better and therefore send a cleaner signal? Seriously, I was amazed how well they did. Got a 100K score on Seaquest with one and that is a fairly demanding game to play for accuracy (between the rows of subs and then shooting has to be accruate too).

Anyone else have a good experience with these? Mind you, I would have to sell my car to keep these things in 9Volts but will definately have them out at my next party...

It all depends on the model, some are pretty bad while others are quite decent. Sounds like you chose wisely. :)

I have only tried the Atari brand from all the wireless joysticks in my collection, but it did not work well at all, for some reason it only wanted to move the characters, in any game, to the left side of the screen.

:ponder:
