jpfalcon2003 #1 Posted November 9, 2006 Which game is currently giving you trouble to beat. Solaris right now for me.
shadow460 #2 Posted November 9, 2006 Phaser Patrol, I guess. I'm still two levels away from the highest rank. Hardest game? Probably Pitfall or Sword of Saros. Neither of those is easy at all.
bretthorror #3 Posted November 9, 2006 (edited) For me, I just can't get anywhere in Berzerk. Can't get the aiming right. I have a similar problem in Towering Inferno. To turn the hose to hit the flame always makes me move my guy into it. Dark Cavern too. All similar in aiming and it screws me up. Uzumaki #4 Posted November 9, 2006 Solaris takes a long time to finish and takes patience. Dark Chambers... .hard if you don't cheat and look at game maps for correct exits on higher levels.

Didn't realize Dark Chambers for the 2600 was difficult. I just got this game for the 2600 about 2 weeks ago. I have beaten the 7800 version. Do you think it's harder than the 7800 Dark Chambers? I remember it taking me awaile to beat that version. Meaning the game setting was very long. Now i've gotta go try the 2600 version and beat it. It's made me curious to see. Next on my list. Shawn #6 Posted November 9, 2006 Spider Maze after about level 3 or 4 is pretty hard to handle. That wicked flicker of the enemy is just too hard to get around.
HP Atari King of Michigan #7 Posted November 9, 2006 While it may not be the hardest, Airlock is the most tedious of the 2600 games. Always dying after 10 seconds. I don't even play it anymore.
Lord Helmet #8 Posted November 9, 2006 Junior Pac-Man kicks my butt all the time.
candiru #9 Posted November 9, 2006 *looks at title* *looks at opening post* OK I'll take the bait. Beat 'Em & Eat 'Em. Actually Seaquest is one of my favorite games. It would be cool to be able to max it out, but I don't think I'll ever get there.
the 5th ghost #10 Posted November 9, 2006 Guardian is difficult to play for an extended amout of time because you never receive any bonus planets, even though the manual says you should! Solar Storm is tough to get past 10K Miner 2049er is tough to get past 10K
Dragnerok X #11 Posted November 9, 2006 *ponders* Dare I mention it , dare I mention it.... O.K.!!! The swordquest series, without a guide, of course.

Recycled #13 Posted November 9, 2006 Jr. Pac-Man gets my vote. It seems like if a take a break from it for a few months....I'm back to square one in the skill department. Not that I was ever that good anyway.....I've been able to get to the third screen a few times, that's it.

vdub_bobby #16 Posted November 9, 2006 I vote Jr. Pac-Man or Stargate/Defender II for hardest "good" game.
godzillajoe #17 Posted November 9, 2006 While it may not be the hardest, Airlock is the most tedious of the 2600 games. Always dying after 10 seconds. I don't even play it anymore. Airlock has TWO levels and then the game ends. You only have ten seconds to get the key and get off the first deck or you die and the game ends. But once you do that the game is almost impossible to not finish as any extra time is added when the clock resets on the next deck. I beat the game in five minutes after learning how to handle that crucial first deck. Hardest games? Millipede gets twitchy Communist Mutants From Space is IMPOSSIBLE at the higher levels. Jr. Pac-Man. Never cleared the first screen without dying at least once. Can anyone? Kaboom gets really hard Stampede. Never rolled the score. Thrust+ is maddening until you get the controls down. And even then it's tough
Recycled #18 Posted November 9, 2006 Which game is currently giving you trouble to beat. Solaris right now for me. I should of read this whole post earlier....anyway....with Solaris it's frustrating to get a a nice chunk of mapping done then hit a dead end. I'm still working on this game. I hope to beat it someday.

shadow460 #23 Posted November 10, 2006 Survival Island, the closest thing to Hell on Earth I actually debated if maybe that was tougher than Sword of Saros. What makes the difference is that you can completely map out Survival Island. Once you do, it's as easy as pie. Sword of Saros is different every time, and sometimes you get way screwed by the room placement.
