GameBoy memory card? Hot or flop?

The game X change has a few Mega Memory Cards by InterAct for the Pocket/Color line of Game Boys. I don't plan on using it with battery backed games since InterAct's products tend to bungle save files on those.

 

However, games like Star Wars and Power Mission do not have a save feature, yet they can still run a couple of hours per sitting. I'd like to be able to save my progress on those titles without having to leave the Game Boy turned on. I've done that with my Game Shark, but it only has one save slot which must be cleared in order to save a new game from any cartridge. I've read that the Mega Memory Card has 100 save slots.

 

I think the cards are $6.95 each. If so, I might pick one up. I'd go for something besides InterAct, but that's the only thing on the market that I know of.

Has anyone ever used one of these?

 

EDIT: Anyone know where I can find online manuals for the Game Boy Color Gameshark and that memory card? If I'm gonna use 'em to save games, I need to know just how I'm supposed to operate 'em. Gameshark.com has been taken over by crapcatz.
