Bomberman Land Touch thread + Friend Codes

This one totally slipped my radar, but it's out now. It's got the classic Bomberman multiplayer style game, calling it "Bomberman Battle Pack". I guess the idea is that any future Bomberman games would have this same Pack and they'd all be compatible together, kind of like how you can link up Mario Bros. Classic with any of the Super Mario Advance titles (and Superstar Saga).

The multiplayer set up is pretty robust, even more so than original Bomberman DS I'd say and long time Bomberman fans really shouldn't be left wanting with what's offered here. Lots of good powerups (though not all of them), tonnes of boards, variable rules, basically the works.

Messed around with online on WFC and it's good fun so far with some really crazy action. I've only gone a few rounds so far, but I've seen is damn fun. 4 human and 4 computer players in each round and I think Player 1 picks the rules of the match.

There is also a big single player mode that's totally different and looks deeper than I'd thought it would be, but I haven't gotten to that just yet...

I actually have one of the earlier Bomberman Land games, released for the Playstation 2 in Japan. While the PS2 game has a larger cast of characters and more advanced graphics, the series seems like a better fit on the Nintendo DS. I played it BLT briefly and thought it was entertaining... I'm just hoping that it has the wide variety of games and mini-games that the PS2 version had.

It looks so much like Bomberman DS I'm hesitant to get this. I still get a lot of gameplay out of that Bomberman game it's trivial to not get the new one unless something really drastic is different. :-/

From what I understand the main game is completely different. It happens in a theme park and what I gather from the manual is that Bomberman walks around to the attractions (that are actually mini games) and competes in them. A pretty big departure from your typical Bomberman game.

The mulitplayer setup is a lot like the first Bomberman DS, but with online play. I realised there are many options here though, as you cannot really tweak the rules (or at least I haven't figured out how), but there are a bunch of levels and multiplayer Bomberman is just awesome anyway you slice it

I skimp on the other things so I have money for vids.

I rarely eat out, bring home made coffee to work, only see movies at the cheap-o theatre and matinees only, no call display on my phone, no cell phone, that kind of thing.

That, and I am a very good deal hunter who rarely pays the regular price for things

Tonnes of personality, good writing, lots of NPCs to talk to, items to collect and equip, etc. As metioned though, this is not your typical Bomberman game at all. Instead, think Feel the Magic / Wario Ware meets Megaman Battle Network meets Bomberman, and all stylus controlled

That's enough out of you. Bad enough you have a Wii already, now you're also making me want DS games too. Stop it man, I have an Atari to feed!

 

Seriously though, that sounds awesome. I might pick it up if I can scrape together some money.
