Crazy Climber #1 Posted November 24, 2006 Hey everyone. Just bought my very first TurboGrafx...actually it is a Turbo Express. It is one of the few systems I've never owned. I know there is plenty of info availible on whats good and what sucks but I trust you guys more than random rating pages, etc... so I guess what I'm getting at is what games do I need to buy for my new handheld toy? I'm not to picky about what style of game just as long as it's cool. Platformers, Beat em ups, RPG's and Sports titles come too mind but like I said I'm open to all suggestions. Any opinions would be awesome. I guess I might also be looking to buy a few titles but I should probably do a seperate thread for that. Let me know what you guys think, Thanks man

Let me know what you guys think, Thanks man I only have 4 tg-16 games since I am a relatively new owner with me owning the system for 5 months. Based on the games I own: Devil's Crush- Pinball game. It is considered to be the 1st or 2nd best pinball game ever, and it is better then Alien Crush, another tg-16 Pinball game I own. Douneon Explorer should be avoided on a Tubo express due to the while it can played for 1 player only, it is a rpg with a Gauntlet feel that is made for more then 1 player. If You have a tg-16 with a tubo tap then I would recommand it. Legendary Axe is a very good platform/hack and slash game. It is showing it's age in graphic's but it is a very good game. jboypacman #5 Posted November 24, 2006 SplatterHouse,Blazing Lazers,Legendary Axe 2,Tiger Road,Bloody Wolf,Cadash,Galaga 90,New Adventure Island,Nectaris, and Bonks Adventure are some of my favorites.

Uzumaki #7 Posted November 24, 2006 If you like RPG, consider Neutopia and Neutopia II. The password screen may be hard to read on small screen since I don't think TE has battery backed RAM inside like TG-16 with CD add on, TurboBooster Plus add on, or Duo. Jagasian #8 Posted November 24, 2006 I recommend getting a flash card such as this one: http://www.ic2005.com/html/2005/show-40.htm It lets you play TG16 ROMs on the actual hardware. Especially since you are using a portable TG16, you don't want to have to carry around a bunch of cards, so you can rip all of your cards and make a game playlist on the flash card. That way you only need one card, yet you can still have multiple games on it.
SteveW #9 Posted November 25, 2006 Just grab any HuCard you can get. I've got something like 18 games, and the only one I didn't like was Tricky Kick (puzzle game). Most of the games have at least some playability, or at least that's what I think from my meager selection of games.

Thanks for the cool link, a flashcard might be the way to go I have to admit though the collector in me kind of likes to track down games with the cases etc.... decisions, decisions.... The cool thing is it seems like most of the TG-16 games can be picked up at a decent price and looking at screen shots most of them look pretty damn cool. I don't know why I have never bought one of these
Jagasian #12 Posted November 27, 2006 Thanks for the cool link, a flashcard might be the way to go I have to admit though the collector in me kind of likes to track down games with the cases etc.... decisions, decisions.... The cool thing is it seems like most of the TG-16 games can be picked up at a decent price and looking at screen shots most of them look pretty damn cool. I don't know why I have never bought one of these A flash card does not mean you can't buy real cards, cases, and manuals. In fact, I encourage you to do so. However, a flash card means you can keep your rare old original cards in storage, reducing their wear and tear. A flash card is also more portable, as you can put several games on the card at a single time. Don't forget you can also use it to play fan translations of games that never made it to the west, yet were hits in Japan. I mostly collect games for the SNES, and I definitely prefer to have the original complete game, packaging, inserts, manual, box and all. However, I also like to have my cake and eat it to. I am too anal to play my mint condition carts, but I am OK with ripping the ROMs and putting them on a flash card so that I can play them on a real SNES, keeping the original copy in a safe and secure undisclosed location. SteveW #13 Posted November 27, 2006 cant forget fighting street (streetfighter1) or bonks adventure I thought Fighting Street was a Turbo CD only? At least I've only ever seen it on CD. And I wouldn't call it a 'must-have' game. It sucked so bad that I'm amazed that they even decided to make a sequel. I remember how bad the English of the game announcer was, too. EricDeLee #14 Posted November 27, 2006 I'll jump in here soon with a few opinions... welcome to the TG world... once I started... I have not looked back since!
EricDeLee #15 Posted November 27, 2006 As most know... I didn't start collecting Turbo Grafx stuff untill very recently (around May of this year). I think it is a very interesting system to collect for and thus far I am VERY happy with that collection. I started off by getting a TG Express with about 8 games. I had NEVER played ANY TG games prior to that... and have been hooked since. To tell you the truth my Atari 2600 collecting spree went out the window for now... and even collecting for the Lynx went to the wayside. Now... I have about 60 or so US released games. I can't remember what my last count was... it is on my blog. The majority of the games I have the cases, and the instructions for it. It has been easy for me to collect thus far... which is great being that I don't see any of this stuff in the wild at all. I think I've found more Lynx games... or Vectrex games... than I have TG games. I agree with a statement above... try getting a PC Engine Flash Cart. I love mine. I wrote a review on it somewhere on this forum... and in the forum of the site that sells the flash carts. Great stuff. This helps you out a bit to try all of the games. As of right now... I don't want any of the PCEngine carts because I have this flash cart. Some of the PCEngine carts are high priced (Terra Cresta or something or another sticks out in my mind). But for pure play value: I've loved Air Zonk (don't use the turbo switches... I think it jacks it up and is harder to play). I like Splatterhouse, Raiden, and a few others. I haven't played all of my games yet... but I have tested out quite a few. I am excited to start up the Neutopia series... that looks like a lot of Zelda-ish fun! I have a TG console and some games I was going to place on ebay soon. So if you are interested in getting more games I can always list what I have... I think I have 8 or 10 games or something like that.
