highendsystems
Has anyone ever beaten this game? No matter how many times I played it, or how good I got I never got past the first level. Does everyone else think this game was too hard? If it only added 10 seconds I probably could have gotten past track one....damn bouncing balls.... olavese@online.no
It's hard, but I think I managed a couple of levels if I remember correctly. Long time since I played it! I hated that the music started at the beginning when you stopped into something. (Or do I remember incorrectly there too? I am getting too old)
+remowilliams
IIRC playing it on US NTSC machines is nearly impossible, as the game timing is based on the (slower clock) 50Hz European PAL standards and therefore plays too fast on NTSC
Ross PK
I remember playing it a few times around the age of ten, it was my nephews game. I'm pretty sure I couldn't get past the 1st level anyway.
TMR
From memory, i managed to get England and Australia sussed but never quite completed America...
Goochman
It is impossible on NTSC machines due to clock differences Neat game - kinda looks like they ripped off the Pole Position map generator and added a new level of complexity! Urchlay
It is impossible on NTSC machines due to clock differences No wonder I remember this game being hideously difficult... Wonder how hard it would be to disassemble it and create an NTSC version that runs at the correct speed. Maybe I'll give it a shot.
Rybags
It was a mongrel of a game, but had some revolutionary techniques for graphics like the rendered intro and PMG overlays for tunnels.
prixon
Has anyone ever beaten this game? Yeah I remember completing it back in the good ol' days.... Takes lots of practice! As I recall there are three countries, each one has a number of stages and there is a fork junction at some point in each country so there are six possible end points. The ending is a real anticlimax though as there is just a feeble ascending sound, the windscreen blacks out and you return back to the start menu. p
highendsystems
Terrific answers guys, thanks! Now I don't feel so bad that I couldn't beat it! I remember hitting nothing, and still couldn't make it to the tunnel, thought maybe I wasn't taking every curb as break-neck as I should.... Too bad the climax was such a disappointment, but I'm thankful to know what it is since I'll never beat it on my machine....
telengard
Wow, I can't believe there is a thread on this game. Always thought it was a little obscure. I had this one for the Commodore and don't remember getting far in it. I do remember the cool intro morph of the track and the nice deep sound. I also remember the game being CHEAP. I'll have to fire this one up on the Atari to compare. ~telengard
