NE146 #26 Posted November 27, 2006 and the Amazon sale made it possible for me to get in on the 360 without spending too much dough. Sup Jibba You are one amazingly lucky bastard to score that deal Everyone and their brother was going for it. I know in my house, we had 4 people going for it with just myself remoted simultaneously into 4 pc's in different parts of the U.S to try and get it. No luck. I just gotta say congrats on that one
Atari Master #27 Posted November 27, 2006 Wow, nice come back! Not. Your mom is a nice come back, ha take that! Riiight... Anyway, I hear Blue Dragon is 3 DVDs. It must be pretty freaking huge. It may sell me a 360 sooner than later. I just wish the price would hurry and drop! : /
MCHufnagel #28 Posted November 27, 2006 Well, I just joined the XBox 360 club. I wasn't going to get into the next-gen until next Christmas, but my wife said I should get the kids one for this Christmas. So I picked up a premium with a few games and an extra controller yesterday and will keep it hidden from them. Once again I'm reminded why I married the woman I'm married to. Starscream #29 Posted November 27, 2006 I don't know how old your kids are, but the 360, much like the PS3 and wii, all have parental controls built in now. If you want to control the violence or language, you can do it from the "Family Settings". We use it here for our son. On the 360, it can also block certain profiles from accessing Live IIRC. Thanks for the tip. I just went to xbox.com and read up on Family Settings. It looks pretty easy to do. My two sons are 14 and 11, so M rated games are off limits to them. Hyper_Eye #31 Posted November 29, 2006 Video games systems =/= cars... There are only three, and each have their pirks. I could see someone not liking a particular system's pirks, though. Other than some of the motion sensing, what perks does PS3 offer over X360? Just the selection of games? 1080p You know 1080p was added to the 360 with a recent update. You can't use that one anymore. You have to say "HDMI".
CGQuarterly #32 Posted November 29, 2006 W00t I just picked up a 1080P monitor!!! Now I can't wait for the 360 to get here. Ive seen pics of the dashboard displayed in 1080p and it looks ridiculous. Now I just need a game that supports it (if there aren't any yet). Chris
Hyper_Eye #33 Posted November 29, 2006 But the games should upscale from 720p. When the 360 is set on a particular mode everything is displayed in that mode (except DVD's which only upscale when connected through VGA... by law.)
CGQuarterly #34 Posted November 30, 2006 Well I can't wait to play with it. I am new to all of this HD stuff. Hopefully I'll be swinging to the smooth sounds of 1080p 360 by Monday. Chris
