Pondering putting broken 400 and 410 up for sale/trade

Recommended Posts

Would anyone be interested in what's apparently a non-functional Atari 400 computer and 410 program recorder? I'm thinking of just getting rid of it and acquiring an 800 and see if I can find a working 410 or get a working 1010 instead. I just need to know if there's any interest before I put it up on the marketplace forum.

I have a 400 that powers up to blue screen. When I mothballed it ~15 years ago, it worked but had no sound (bad pokey). So I'll take it apart and reseat any socketed chips when I get some time. Have you tried that? My 410 also has some problems. It needs a new belt, and one of the rubber drive-shaft wheels has a flat from having sat in a closet for those same 15 years. So if I used a rubberband in place of the belt, it'll rewind but not advance past the flat. Probably not worth the money needed to fix it :(

Yup, tried reseating all of the chips. Still just gives me a blank but fuzzy screen.

I'll take your 400 off your hands.
