Total VC Games = 253

Wii points cost: = $1 for each 100 points.

Wii points are purchased using either Wii point cards sold at retail, or purchased online through the Wii shopping channel. Purchasing points through the Wii shopping channel is usually the best method due to cost and more options on buying points. You can buy points at 1000, 2000, 3000, or 5000 increments through the Wii shopping channel.

Currently, new VC games are released each Monday.

How much do points cost?

$20 for 2000 points, or effectively 100 points on the dollar. So the breakdown is:

500 points = $5.00

800 points = $8.00

1000 points = $10.00

Local taxes may apply. ;)

Edit: Fixed the 10 point type. Thanks -^Cro§Bow^-! :)

I won't dispute this. But I checked my bank account just now, and the Wii online points purchase was only $20 out of my bank. No tax in site. So this might be a state or regional thing on online purchases. Makes sense since you do have to specify what City and State your in when making the purchase.

I have admended the top post and left out the No Tax statement just in case.

I wish they'd put out some more games. And of course that you could actually buy a classic controller somewhere

Japan will have a lot more than us, that's for sure.

As for the Classic Controller, I am almost wishing I didn't buy one since you hardly need it. The games I have downloaded so far all control just fine with the remote and are compatible with GCN controllers too

If you after a constantly updating guide to the Wii VC, then here's probably a good place to check out...

And yes I know it's in the UK like me, but the guys putting it together are importers like myself, so it will cover US and UK, and maybe Japan in due course.

i didn't know golden axe ,and ecco was added today. I thought games were only getting added every monday.

As far as the japs getting more than us i think we'll have that many ,or near that many come the time Wii launchs in japan considering the way nintendo keeps releasing more ,and more games every couple of days.

Were Golden Axe and Ecco added today? If so..then you might check the TG-16 area again..as Dungeon Explorer is set to be released soon as well.

I can't get my Wii to access the internet today for some reason...so Super Star Soldier was the last one I knew about.

And Oklahoma does actually have Sales tax. We have 8.5% as a matter of fact. But for online purchases and mail order purchases...we don't. Unless the place being ordered from has a B&M presence that is. I say this, because I can order from NewEgg and not pay any tax. But if I order from BestBuy.com or CircuitCity.com then they charge me the appropiate state sales tax.

Either way, my Wii purchases don't have any tax if I do them online through the Wii shopping channel.

But if I order from BestBuy.com or CircuitCity.com then they charge me the appropiate state sales tax.

It has to do with Interstate Commerce. If you buy from someone in another state, then your state can't really collect tax from the out of state entity. At the same time, the seller is not required to pay taxes to the out of state entity since the business is technically taxable only in your home state. So entities with a presence in your state (like Best Buy and Circuit City) have to collect taxes from your sale, while an entity like Nintendo of America (who's located in Redmond, Washington) only has to charge taxes to residents of Washington.

Technically this little loophole is closed in many states. I don't know about Oklahoma, but the states I've lived in have a spot on the income tax forms to enter taxable amounts on purchases made out of state. The money you claim is thus your responsibility to fork over taxes for. While it would probably be wise to pay taxes on a massive purchase like a car (in case you ever get audited), most people I know ignore this field. :)

Super Star Soldier was the last one I knew about.

I was looking at this today. Excuse my TG 16 stupidness, but is this a followup to the Star Soldier I have for NES? I don't seem to recall Hudson making that, but I am tired and could very well be wrong.

In answer to your question Figgler,

From what I have read, yes. The TG-16 Super Star Soldier is the followup to the NES Star Soldier. Believe it or not, I haven't played Star Soldier on the NES, but heard it was a good game. I don't imagine that Nintendo will be bringing it to the VC anytime too soon with Super Star Soldier already there.

I had to rearrange my wireless AP yesterday, but I got my Wii back online. Sure enough, Golden Axe and Ecco are both avail now. I have added them to the above list. I also wasted no time in downloading Golden Axe. Yes I own a CIB copy in my Genny collection, but still...here it is...fairly cheap and always ready to play!

Isn't that really the charm about the Wii VC games? You can have 7 or 8 systems hooked up to your TV in one console! Very cool! (Those 7-8 would be: Wii, Gamecube, N64, SNES, Genesis, Turbo Graphix 16, NES and possibly MSX... unless that's a Japan only thing)

Amazing really... all those consoles and only three apples... er I mean only three dvd cases tall! :)

BTW...I ended up having to put my wireless AP in the damn window!!! Yeap..I have it sitting up on the top of the lower half of the window. Now...I can access the DS and the Wii from anywhere in this house and the smaller house behind that I actually live in.

My only concern now...is how the router will hold up being in a window? It is still physically protected from the elements, But the Sun will be able to shine in there in the evenings, and I fear about condensation in the upcoming winter months... I expected more of a Linksys WRT54GS...but I guess not...

No...You can copy the games to an SD card. I have been able to..and then able to copy them back to the main Wii. But...if I copy the files off the SD card to my computer and then copy them back to the SD card, then they no longer show up on the Wii to transfer them. I haven't tested with another Wii. But I believe someone already stated they saved their VC games to an SD card and the games did NOT show up when viewed on another Wii console. So they couldn't be transfered.

Someone also mentioned that they had a problem with one of the updates at one point, and seemed to be locked out of their VC games they had already downloaded. And from what that individual stated, they couldn't download the VC games again either. It was as if the record of them buying them once already had somehow poofed away...

Don't know the full story and I haven't had any trouble myself. But then, I only tried a few times to copy the files back and forth and once I saw it wouldn't work. I left it at that.
