Any love for Bank Heist?

I'm currently addicted to this game after picking it up recently.

 

Simple premise and gameplay but it's got me hooked for some reason.

 

Anyone else have any opinions or wanna share their high scores?

I never really played it much. IIRC it's a maze game where you drive around a grab money and fuel while avoiding the cops. It's a pretty standard idea and a fairly average game. Nothing too special.

 

It was originally called the Roaring 20's.

I like it. Yes graphics are basic but game play is quite good. I like the sound of the police sirens as the cars chase you around the maze.

And the fact that you HAVE TO blow up cop cars to get more banks to appear and get a full tank of gas before leaving town

 

OK the cop cars could have been a different color as it's next to impossible to see them against the black background sometimes a new cop car will often appear right on top of your car and kill you but overall I find it a nice time waster with solid albeit simple gameplay

I love it. Fast action, requires good timing of the bombs, nice sounds (godzillajoe mentioned the sirens), satisfying explosions, requires some strategy (head for the exit vs. blow up more cops), multiple mazes, and nice graphics with a nice intelligent-flicker routine.

 

Underrated. One of the better maze chase games on the 2600.

I realized after some more plays that the cop cars appear at the location of the banks so it doesn't pay to drive around the "scene of the crime" as it were. Good stuff.

Nice game. Four objects with two sprites means some flicker, but not too much. Too bad it doesn't work with unhacked SuperCharger.

one of the Must Have games IMO....love it. i dont care what people bash it.....this game puts me in a trance....and i just LOVE blowing up police cars

I love this game. 2600 simplicity/fun at it's finest. It was intended to be Fox's "Bonnie and Clyde" game but they must not have had all the rights cleared. It would've looked good with a young Faye Dunaway on the box.

definatly get it.....really awesome game....crisp graphics and sound.....escalating difficulty.....not your regular maze clone.....

i'd love to get an extra copy of this game with a box because the box art is awesome.....bonnie and clyde rule

Yeah, this is one of the better maze games on the VCS. For some reason, it reminds me of an Arcadia 2001 game. I think it's the little car graphics, which kinda look like the dog-catcher van in Cat Trax. Dunno. It is very fun, and on of my favorite Fox games. It's one of those really good games that is obscure enough to have completely missed the spotlight, kind of like Solar Storm or Subterranea.

 

It's definitely a nice break from the usual pac-clones. Good stuff.

I like it - good game. Never knew about it as a kid, one of those that I'm glad to discover as I collect.
