backlit NeoGeo pocket?

I own a neogeo pocket and i read on an amazon product review that is it "easy" to find a site that will install a backlight into your neogeo...i would LOVE this but i have googled and googled to no avail...anyone know if this is for real?

I'd like to know about this myself...i've had a NGPC for years, and the fact that i can't see it to play it has really killed my desire to get new games for what seems to be a fun little portable.

It's possible to retrofit a frontlight onto the system, but not a backlight.

 

I saw some people use Afterburner kits and trim them to fit.

Others just dremel'ed out recesses for some white LEDs.

 

 

Personally, I never had an issue. Especially with the games all using bright palettes.

The NG Pocket has one of the best, most visible screens I've ever used. I like the fact that you get like 30+ hours of battery life. I never found the lack of a backlight to be a problem.

I'm voting for a light. I would play my NGPC more but I've gotten spoiled by my N-gage (and its increasingly crapy batterly life!) I find it hard to play at night in front of a light... too much glare. Maybe I need a better bulb.
