Cases?

This may seem like a silly question: but if noone is actually manufacturing new cartridge CASES, won't the world run out of cases eventually??

 

I know there're a'lot of commons, but that's a finite number.

vgwiz was manufacturing new cases for a few years, but I think they have moved on to other ventures.

Yeah, like only a 100 million or so.

Right, there's plenty of commons for 2600 homebrews. 7800 homebrews are a little more of a problem because you can't use the sliding-door carts. But 2600 commons are a lot easier to find than Colecovision commons.

 

That's one of the many reasons I'm considering doing Sega Genesis homebrewing (among many others), right now it's not too hard to find commons for a buck each for shells. But the test cartridge board (takes 2-8 and maybe 16 mbits) I'm getting made right now will have holes for both the Sega and EA shells.
