Atari Master #1 Posted June 12, 2002 Me an Urbersaurus are fighting. He says the NES is a side loader and I say it's a front loader! Who is right?
Albert #2 Posted June 12, 2002 It's a front loader. It's like your car, where's the engine? It's in the front (well, usually)!! Where are the doors? On the sides! ..Al
ubersaurus #3 Posted June 12, 2002 It's a side dammit! The front is a side!
Atari Master #4 Posted June 12, 2002 Thought so! He still dosn't belive me!
Albert #5 Posted June 12, 2002 It's a side dammit! The front is a side! Okay, you're both right to a certain extent, but I've never heard anyone call the NES a side loader. ..Al
Atari Master #6 Posted June 12, 2002 Same here. He knows nothing about gaming! LOL
KAZ #7 Posted June 12, 2002 Aren't there two versions.... A top loader and a front loader? The snes I would consider a top loader, maybe that's how I'm confused.
Atari Master #8 Posted June 12, 2002 Yeah, but no side loader.
KAZ #9 Posted June 12, 2002 If you are using car analogies....then here's mine... When you plug your car in (like in the winter time) the battery is located in the front of the car. So where the Nintendo hooks in it should be called THE FRONT. Where you actually insert the cartridge should be THE BACK or on a car it would be like putting shit in THE TRUNK So they should call it a: BACK LOADER
Nukey Shay #10 Posted June 12, 2002 Yeah, but some cars have the trunk up front and the engine in the back. I've never seen any that have the engine or trunk mounted above the passenger "On the Nes again..." -Willie Neslon (How High Can I Get?)
ubersaurus #11 Posted June 12, 2002 Well, ya see, this is what I think happened-*runs*
Atari Master #12 Posted June 12, 2002 It loads from the front of the system so it's a front loader.
Adrian M #13 Posted June 12, 2002 I have a side loader which I bought several months ago. It's already giving me those flashing screen problems. Time to put that cleaning kit to good use I suppose.
ubersaurus #14 Posted June 12, 2002 Well by that thinking the intellivision is a right loader, because it loads from the right side.
Atari Master #15 Posted June 12, 2002 And the NES loads from the front! Just get a new Pin connecter Adrian. They make the NES work like new.
Nukey Shay #16 Posted June 12, 2002 Actually, my Nes that's a front-side-whatsis loader has a small expansion port on the underside. Does that mean that it's a bottom-feeder too?! Or is this just where they remove the poo from baby Nes's?? As far as the flashing screen, I just give it a good kick on the side (the one that has the a/v jacks--YES, that's the SIDE). Rockin' Kat #17 Posted June 13, 2002 I suggest you do not beat on anything. That just runs the risk of busting something else (not that Nintendos are too terrnything...but I prefer not to intentionaly inflict harsh forces on my electronics.) the blinking has nothing to do with the A/V outputs or RF output. It has to do with the Cartridge port's pins either being excesivly dirty or over-flexed. I find that when I have problems of the blinking/blank/scrambled kind can be fixed by a good cleaning. I have already said how I do it in a prior post.
Rockin' Kat #18 Posted June 13, 2002 Now, on the topic at hand.... I have never heard/seen it refered to as a "side-loader". I've always called it a "front-loader" as long as I've known there was a top-loader.
