Trip To Radio Shack

Recommended Posts

Took a trip to Radio Shack today in an attempt to complete some of the 2600 systems I have mothballed.

I found the RS version of this:

For $2.97 on clearance. If you're RS is out of them and you want one, let me know and I'll pick them up for you. There is about 3 left.

I also grabbed a couple Phono-to-F Adapters. For a mental note for anyone trying to pick this off of the shelf, they are Gold Plated for part number 278-276. Not the standard metallic color like on the "How To" page. I saw the standard ($.50 more, actually) but didn't have presence of mind enough to write down that model number.

The customer service was atrocious and I stood in line literally 20 mins for a $9 check, but hey, I'm home now and am about to see if the phono/F adapters are worth all the fuss. :D

I believe they are worth the fuss. I noticed that since I have been using the A/B switch with the coaxil to RCA adapter, the sound and the picture are far more sharp and clear than the normal RF game switches. No more fuzzy lines or staticy sounds.
