Game Info

Released in the arcade by Konami in 1986, ported by Konami to the NES in 1988. The sequel to Gradius (Nemesis). Also known (in Japan) as Salamander. Had numerous sequels/spinoffs, as far as I can tell.

Tips

Cybergoth:

First get a Laser upgrade and then a Sattelite, then everything else just as you like.

Getting warm with this: 59.350

I can probably still beat Gradius these days, but it takes time to adjust to Life Force, since I never played it before. It seems it's driving the NES to the very edge, there's spots in the 2nd level where it is hard to find your own ship in the flickery mess

One thing I noticed, and it really took me a while to realize, is that unlike in Gradius here your sattellites survive your destruction - just pick 'em immediately up again!!

I wish I had this on a cartridge. My PS2 style gamepad is clumsy with precise games like this. I had a finer touch 15 years ago on a NES pad... or maybe I just suck now. I used to love this game, but now it's making me angry. I'm slowly improving, but not much. Better stop before the gamepad lands inside my monitor.
