phitter #1 Posted December 5, 2006 (edited) Before you dismiss this poll as silly, think about it for a minute. For some reason, I get much more geared up to play a game of Pitfall! than I would if it had been named Pitfall. I would have preferred Adventure! to just plain old Adventure as it is currently titled (although a label hack would be sweet.) I think that Atari proper missed the boat. They would have sold a lot more of the following carts just by adding an exclamation mark: 1. Backgammon! 2. Human Cannonball! 3. Miniature Golf! 4. Slot Machine! 5. Video Chess! And there are other games just screaming for an exclamation mark: 1. Bugs! 2. Demon Attack! 3. Earth Dies Screaming! 4. Entombed! 5. Maze Craze! 6. Ram It! -phitter Edited December 5, 2006 by phitter
joeybastard #2 Posted December 5, 2006 Kaboom is king of all VCS games so I voted for that.

Atarifever #9 Posted December 5, 2006 I picked Go Fish! and You're An Idiot! Hey Atari Fever, is that a real shirt I can buy somewhere?! EDIT! Yes! At clubnamco.com! I asked pretty much everyone I know for clubNAMCO stuff for Christmas. They also made a Dig Dug one that I can't find anymore. I particularly want the one in my avatar and the Galaxian "Player/Player Haters" shirt.

Atarifever #13 Posted December 5, 2006 (edited) I just ordered the one in your avatar. $25 for a t-shirt is a bit steep but I NEED it. That's how felt when I found them too. If I don't get one for Christmas, I'll cry. If I had the money, I'd be all over this: http://www.clubnamco.com/product.php?produ...=250&page=1 To Hell with Mickey Mouse. By the way, the Galaxian one should really have both parts on one part. The ship is rather phallic to have by itself with the word "Player" under it. supercat #15 Posted December 5, 2006 I think that Atari proper missed the boat. They would have sold a lot more of the following carts just by adding an exclamation mark: Do you think the exclamation marks helped the sales of Odyssey2 games? I think there are one or two oddballs for that system that lack the exclamation marks, but otherwise exclamation marks seem par for the course on that system. NovaXpress #16 Posted December 6, 2006 Best game containing an exclamation mark? River Raid, no contest. If you don't get it, you shouldn't admit to it.

G.Whiz #19 Posted December 6, 2006 Best game containing an exclamation mark? River Raid, no contest. If you don't get it, you shouldn't admit to it. That's two exclamation marks. The question clearly stated "an exclamation mark" -- singular. Bit of a technicality, but unfortunately it just won't fly for this contest. ~G

G.Whiz #22 Posted December 6, 2006 Hey, what about Man Goes Down!? I know when people talk about it, they don't use the exclamation mark, but the winning cart label has it... http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...3689&st=175 ~G
