godzillajoe #1 Posted December 6, 2006 Agree or disagree? Some of course are winner by default as there is only 1 version of the sport represented for the system Baseball: Pete Rose Baseball Basketball: Double Dunk Billiards: Trick Shot Bowling: Bowling Boxing: Boxing Fishing: Fishing Derby Football: Super Football Golf: Golf Hockey: Ice Hockey Olympics: Summer Games / Winter Games Racing: Indy 500 Skiing: Skiing Soccer: International Soccer Tennis: RealSports Tennis Volleyball: RealSports Volleyball Wrestling: Title Match Pro Wrestling
+Wonder007 #2 Posted December 6, 2006 I think for racing it should be Enduro.
Inky #3 Posted December 6, 2006 You forgot best Raquetball game.
jpfalcon2003 #4 Posted December 6, 2006 Agree with most. But "My Golf" is the best golf game for the 2600.
Inky #5 Posted December 6, 2006 Seriously though, I think the most fun sports game of all on the 2600 is Bowling. Simple to pick up and play, and its just so darn addicting. Volleyball and Indy 500 are tied for close second.
Uzumaki #6 Posted December 6, 2006 No cricket?? And no rugby??? American football is not the same as rugby.
128bytes #7 Posted December 6, 2006 For Tennis, I believe Activision Tennis is better than RealSports. For Football, I still like Super Challenge Football better than Super Football, especially with 2 players. The sandlot-style play calling - "you go out, you stay in, you catch the pass" is totally in the spirit of Atari games.
godzillajoe #8 Posted December 6, 2006 Cool, I'm not saying my choices are the "correct" choices. I still believe that Realsports Tennis is superior due to the variety of shots like slow arcing lobs and laser beam smashes where Activision Tennis only lets you change the angles and the ball is always the same speed. I gotta play some more football too. It's been a while And yeah, Racquetball is the best!
supercat #9 Posted December 6, 2006 Some of course are winner by default as there is only 1 version of the sport represented for the system I'd suggest segregating 1- and 2- player games, since the best two-player version of a sport might be useless with one player. Room 34 #10 Posted December 6, 2006 No cricket?? And no rugby??? American football is not the same as rugby. Well, any Atari football game is not the same as American football either!
godzillajoe #11 Posted December 6, 2006 I forgot Steeplechase and Polo!
mos6507 #12 Posted December 6, 2006 I still think the original Basketball is more fun than the other more "realistic" ones. There is just something really satisfying about how the players and the ball glide around in that game.
+atari2600land #13 Posted December 6, 2006 I think Pole Position is better than Indy 500. That, and you don't need a special controller.
