Wester #1 Posted December 6, 2006 (edited) I was going through my extra stuff I have to sell/trade and I was about to sell my boxed systems but my woman stopped me. The reason I was going to sell is that it seems like a huge waste to have a complete system setting there not getting played. What do you guys think about letting the system go and just keeping the box for display? Aside from systems that are serial number matched to boxes this seems to me like a better option. misspent_youth #8 Posted December 9, 2006 I don't really see anything wrong with keeping the empty box, as long as you have at least one full set of whatever system went in it, even if it is your daily player machine. Myself, I'd probably get the prettiest looking example of a system I had, and put that in the box, and use a beater as my daily machine. But you're right that it does seem wasteful to have a perfectly good system sitting there. Of course, there are far more systems around even now than people who would use them, so I doubt you're depriving anyone from playing the system. christianscott27 #9 Posted December 9, 2006 The box is gonna take up the same amount of space empty or not... I prefer to have a loose console for playing and a "mint complete boxed" one as a back-up.
Ross PK #10 Posted December 10, 2006 It seems like a shame to split a machine and it's original box up, but, then again, it seems pretty pointless for a system to just be sat there which will never get played.
