rheffera #1 Posted December 8, 2006 just had this remarkable dream: Me and my girlfriend (who is just as mad about 2600 as i am, thats right instead of clothes, shoes etc shes into 2600 im a lucky guy but thats a different story) Anyways, we alked into this store i never been before wanderd over to thier game part and there was this MOUNTANOUS pile of 2600 games rarities every where behind glass and i noticed one of every mystique game in there in PAL format! including lady in wading all there in PAL Format at $15 a cart i didnt care we was drooling a and the others that were there a few were protos at $30 each i didnt care also i was like :" Hun, can i sell everththing right down to your hair so we can buy all this " it was a PAL collectors DREAMBOAT so i discoverd the glass was unlocked so started greedily stockpiling the games in our arms when these sales dudes came up behind us and said:" What are you doing?" so i said" Uh, buying these games as they do have price tags" and one of the guys said:" But your supposed to come ask us to get em for you" so i said"So why was the glass unlcoked then?" and the guy just smiled and said:" So we can punish people for touching without asking" and thier arms extended over to us so fast and wrapped around our throats in a vice grip and all the carts fell to the floor as the life faded forom me as i saw all the carts on the floor. then i woke up happy and angry at same time. Ill never forget the mystique carts. ther were all cream tigervision carts with label stile like tigervision with the actual real life labels on some some others were different. might sketch em while i can remember. Urchlay #2 Posted December 8, 2006 Comments? your own dream like this? post it here! I have recurring dreams where I go to some store (sometimes a real store, sometimes fictional) and find piles of Atari stuff, new in the box, some real items and some imaginary... and there's always a reason I can't get them. Usually I don't have any money... Sometimes I just had the other recurring dream where I wreck my car (so I don't have any way to get them home). Sometimes because the store closes and they kick me out. Wish I could remember some of the fictitious stuff from those dreams. Games that don't exist, weird-colored consoles, or a console that has a keyboard like an Atari 800 but a woodgrain finish like a 2600... With typical dream-logic, I always recognize everything (Hey, look, it's the Atari 839 Ethernet adaptor! I always wanted one of those...), but most of it doesn't stay in my memory for very long. I'm one of those people who stays asleep until the last possible second before I have to get up and get ready to go to work, so by the time I'm in the shower it's all gone. You're a lucky man... you have a girlfriend who actually shares your interests. I always get stuck with the ones who have 500 pair of shoes and another pile of 300 mismatched shoes that they won't throw out because they "have the other one around here somewhere". That or the ones who want to convert me to their religion (why were they dating a "heathen" in the first place? I have no idea)... and plenty more I won't talk about on here (it's a family board). rheffera #3 Posted December 8, 2006 (edited) You're a lucky man... you have a girlfriend who actually shares your interests. It's mainly because she's always been a gamer at core. Dreamcast, gameboys, mega drive, nes, snes and now 2600 with me shes got it. Although its still a curse, just as expensive as the shoes/clothes thing but the difference is she dosnt nag me about it lol and she activley encourages me so its still a bit of a curse, although its a rather enjoyable curse i can live with As for recognising stuff that dosnt even exist in your dreams i understand that too. for example the custers revenge in my dream wasnt the standard label it was a white label woth like a looney tunes circle on it with no writing yet i rcognised it as custers even before i read the side label. rheffera #7 Posted December 8, 2006 (edited) Now the girlfriend into the Atari 2600 is an extreme rarity. haha yeah it is. she was into gaming at a early age with her brother(he sadly died just recently...) and she like so many of us, started with a 2600! she remembers her father bieng good at centipede! then she got a SMS and form there a SMD and SNES and then DC and PC and now like me has come back full circle to the 2600! she is a treasure! mainly cause like so many of us she has good memories and an addcitive personality! also shes not to concerned with bieng lady like/ if i didnt know better id say she was one of you guys in disguise with a sex change operation! But she is fun to be around. alright Edited December 8, 2006 by rheffera
Rom Hunter #8 Posted December 8, 2006 (edited) some guy from France just posted about finding boxed Mystique games. So it is not that uncommon. He found PAL PlayAround carts. PAL Mystique carts are perhaps even harder to find: Edited December 8, 2006 by Rom Hunter

Ah, so you got a chance to visit the "reef store", then? In my experience, cart dreams are a good omen for a good day of thrifting. So when you have one, go out shopping and praise Bira Bira! http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2003/04/25 "I don't even think it's coming out for the Neo."
