EmOneGarand #1 Posted December 8, 2006 (edited) Ok so I plug my SNES in after not using it for a couple months now, never had any issues whatsoever with it, but now it has discolored green bars that scroll down on the TV. I tried 2 different A/V cables to see if it was just the cables but nope, same problem. Tried different carts, same thing.. does this mean the A/V modulator is kapoot?? Or is this a power issue? I have a Universal AC which is fitting kinda loose lately :/ but then again I've been using it for years with no incidents.. I really don't wanna have to trash my SNES, had it since they first came out in the States.. Edited December 8, 2006 by EmOneGarand
+FujiSkunk #2 Posted December 8, 2006 My first impression would be power issue. Do you hear a low hum coming from the TV speakers when you turn it on? Try a different power supply, if you can.
Jagasian #3 Posted December 9, 2006 It is definitely an analog issue, and most likely a power issue. Do you have an official SNES AC adapter? I think you can still buy them from the official Nintendo site. Properly taken care of, a SNES and accessories can last an extremely long time, so investing in an official SNES AC adapter isn't too high of a cost. If you can't figure out how to get it to work, don't throw it away. At least sell it to somebody that will use it for something.
Dusk2600 #4 Posted December 11, 2006 (edited) my original snes eventualy has had the back thingy cracked the thing to plug the power supply in, part of it fell off, now i keep it cus it still works, i only use my new style, the old 1 was a gift from my deceased grandmother and my father, lot of memories with it. too sentimental to get rid of it Edited December 11, 2006 by Dusk2600
awsomo3000 #5 Posted December 11, 2006 My Snes does that too. It sucks I just play it anyway, if you play for like 5 minutes the green bars eventualy go away, they do for me anyway
Ghost Soldier #6 Posted December 11, 2006 I agree, sounds like a power supply problem.
