hex65000 #1 Posted December 9, 2006 So way back when i picked up a Wavebird for my Cube and it was good. Now I occasionally have guests who want to play too and I dont have enough controllers to go around. So I bought a second wavebird thinking I can leave it plugged in and ignore it. The first one wasn't behaving reliably, so I returned it. The second one works but only in the player 2 slot _only_ and sometimes it doesn't kick over and respond correctly. I doubt that it's my Cube, because the wired controllers have worked reliably. I also have double checked to make sure that everyone is on the right channel and no luck. Should I take the second one back too, am I just doing something wrong, or is there some odd nuance of the wavebirds that I am unaware of? Hex. [ In the meantime... Bongo On! ]
figgler #2 Posted December 11, 2006 Mine acts up sometimes. If the batteries are low it gets finicky and just in general it flakes out once in a while. Personally I think it's a function of the building I live in with several cordless phone, radio and wifi signals bouncing around, I think it interferes with the 'Bird
Uzumaki #3 Posted December 12, 2006 Try different frequency and when setting it up, don't change the Wavebird controller channel. For some reason if (for example) Wavebird controller changes through the channels, the receiver locks on to Wavebord controller #1 until the power cycle. Set the controller and the receiver to the same channel and leave it. You may need to change the channel if the one you set on isn't working at all due to external RF interference. I have 2, one set to 8 and another to 13. I couldn't use the lower channels due to interference and I don't know if I can use 14-16 at my house. I blame my computer for bad RF interference. cheap case design plus big hole on the side for the window.
