Ross PK #4 Posted December 12, 2006 Cool, congrats. I'm 30 and thinking about going to college myself, I'd like to train as a motor mechanic.
Pengwin #5 Posted December 12, 2006 Well, I'm 35...never made it to college. But always wanted to study AI at uni...now that I've been working in IT for over 10 years, I figure it's time to do it. You're never too old.
jay2068 #6 Posted December 12, 2006 Yep! Do it! You're never to late to learn! You will keep learning the rest of your life. Good luck with school!
deathtrappomegranate #7 Posted December 12, 2006 Congrats on that I sort of wish that I could join you (although probably not in the Granite City ). Can't afford to be a student again, though.
dinosaur #8 Posted December 13, 2006 (edited) It is never too late. I retired from the police department at 44 years old and went back and got my Journeyman Electrician certification (4 years of school). I graduated at 48 years old and at the graduation ceremony,I was the oldest man in the building! Looked like a grandfather surrounded by his grandsons! I was first in my class for all 4 years,so all of my tuition was refunded to me. This was only the second time, since the school was open, that someone was first in class all four years. Proudly,my mother was still alive then,to attend the graduation with me. Best of luck! (and show the youngsters what maturity can do!) Pengwin #9 Posted December 13, 2006 Thanks for the encouragement guys, I'm really looking forward to next September. I was reading the curriculum, I get to build and play with robots in the second year Not sure if this will lead to future employment, but I'm doing this solely because it's something I have wanted to study for years. As to showing the youngsters what maturity can do??? erm...drink more...party harder...and have fun!!!!
Wrathchild #10 Posted December 13, 2006 Java on A8 - only practical in terms of building exes or class files on another platform and then loading these on the A8. I think the best candidate I've seen would be the Lego Mindstorms tools (lejos) which has a slimmed down VM. Next up would be something based off the Wonka implemention Regards, Mark
