Arkonoid & Rally X for the CV.

Hi...

Q: Would the forthcoming Arkonoid for ColecoVision be with the Rollercontroller and the Standardcontroller ?

:)

Q: Would the forthcoming Rally X for ColecoVision be with the Driving-controller and Standardcontroller ?

:D

That would be perfect, if the Roller and Driving could be used more...

Eduardo has always been somewhat reluctant to add support for the Roller Controller and Steering Wheel modules in his games. His main reason for this is that they generate a lot of interrupts, which must be adequately dealt with by the software, and this can hinder the speed and efficiency of said software. Despite other homebrew programmers telling him it's not that hard to manage, Eduardo still needs to perform some tests on his own and he won't warm up to the idea of adding Roller/Driving Controller support until he's had enough programming experience to know exactly what he's getting himself into.

Rest assured that I will lobby to have Roller Controller support in Arkanoid when Eduardo gets around to it, because I think it's essential for that type of game (standard controllers will be supported too, of course). As for Rally-X, the original arcade game uses a joystick, so I wouldn't expect Eduardo to go the extra mile with Steering Wheel support.

Hi Pixelboy...

Sorry :ponder: Sorry

I was wrong.

It was not Rally X, it was Road-Figther -that is a big difference...

Same answer: Joystick, not steering wheel. :)

I sure hope the MSX version is a better game than the NES one though? :ponder:

I haven't tried either with emulators recently, so I can't voice an opinion about that. But I do know that Opcode will be adding some little things to make the MSX port closer to the arcade version. Mostly cosmetic things like the map music and a proper ending.
