XBLA game question.. re: Leaderboards

If you have a 360 with the silver membership, do the leaderboards work on XBLA games that you buy? Or do you need a gold membership to rank in the online scoreboards? I'm not really in need of playing online against others but the high score thing has my interest (I liked that feature on Midway Arcade VOlume 1 on the original XBox).

I'm pretty sure you'll need a Gold membership to compete online. Even just to log scores to the leaderboard. I could be wrong though.

I've suspected that Silver members can post leaderboard scores, and I've found a couple of statements by users who claim to only have a silver membership but who also have scores on the leaderboards.

 

So, a tentative Yes. Silver members can use the leaderboards. They just can't use the online multiplayer options.

Yes, Silver Memberships show up in Leaderboard rankings. I have only a Silver membership and I'm ranked on several arcade games.

 

I was surprised, though, to see myself ranked on the leaderboards for History Channel Presents The Civil War: A Nation Divided. I wasn't aware that Silver memberships appeared in leaderboards of regular store-bought games but I guess we are.
