Loccy #1 Posted December 19, 2006 I am looking to take the plunge into collecting (have never ever forgiven my mum for giving away my original, six switch, first generation woody some 20-odd years ago) and am obviously starting off by doing the ebay thing, but have no idea of what is a good going rate for items. There doesn't seem to be many six-switchers out there (which is what I really want) and I am tempted to go ahead and purchase a Darth Vader or (shudder) one of the plasticky later models with the crap joystick (don't know what the "name" of these ones is, but I'm sure you know what I mean - there's a "buy it now" one of these for about 30 quid which I am very tempted to just grab anyway). The question is, how much should I be paying for these? I mean, obviously I realise that there are such things as boot sales where you might be able to nab something off of someone who doesn't know the going rate, but how much should I be looking to pay for these on ebay? Bearing in mind that I'm not THAT bothered about getting a great deal as such - just don't want to be fleeced.
carmel_andrews #2 Posted December 19, 2006 unless you are buying rare or collectable software with the 2600/vcs, about or less then 20 gbp just for the games unit (+ psu and coax cable) If you dig deep and and a little deeper, you might just find a 'woody' 2600/vcs or as some/most of the peeps call her 'heavy sixer'
Loccy #3 Posted December 19, 2006 Even for a woody? £20 seems a little low based on the ebay activity I've been watching...?
Loccy #4 Posted December 19, 2006 Scratch that. Victory is mine! £26 for a Woody minus PSU. I can live with that, I'm sure I can rustle up a PSU that'll work.

Wonder if I can get £25 for each of my woodies at home... hmm..... (got about 20 of the things!)
Mayhem #6 Posted December 19, 2006 I paid £20 for my 6 switch PAL woody a few years back... certainly wouldn't go over that.
