joeybastard #1 Posted December 19, 2006 Is the SMS AV cable the same as the Genny 1 AV cable? I'm not home to look at mine and I want to order one.

Uzumaki #4 Posted December 19, 2006 You could also use C64 AV cable as well, the color would be different though.
Video #5 Posted December 20, 2006 I always thought a C64 cable looked like it would hook into a Genny 1. I think the Genny 2 has a smaller video port than the 1 or the SMS. Cool to know. I have a 64 AVS cable around here, I should try it some time.
+FujiSkunk #6 Posted December 20, 2006 (edited) If I'm remembering my past experience correctly, the 3-tailed cables designed specifically for the C-64 will not work for the Sega consoles. However, there are generic 4-tailed cables that will work for the C-64, both Sega consoles, and pretty much any other system that uses that port (the Atari home computers, the VIC-20, and a handful of other systems). Unfortunately there is no way to rig an S-video connection from either Sega console, the way you can on the C-64 (at least not without some external help). Another caveat is the Genesis 1 only offers mono audio from its A/V port, so you may want to use the audio coming from the headphone jack instead.
