sandmountainslim #1 Posted December 21, 2006 Just wanted to say three cheers for Albert! Of all the games I have ordered in the past two years all have been recieved in a timely manner and just as advertised, all the carts look EXTREMELY professional and function flawlessly. I ordered some non videogame stuff off ebay a month back and am still waiting for it to arrive, that makes me appreciate how orders are handled on AA. I am also sure it takes hours for the man to put these carts together and the price is less than you would expect to pay for what is pretty well custom built games. Hats off to the Old Man From Tejas! WP
shadow460 #2 Posted December 21, 2006 I've got four or five pieces of mail in transit. Evidently Albert got the monet order I sent, as my order is "processing". His was the first mail item I've got a response on, yet it was one of the last ones I dealt with. The rest are still in transit. This is my first order from the store, but I hear a lot of happy customers telling how their experiences went.

Dino #4 Posted December 21, 2006 I've bought items from the store over the last few years and have always been impressed. Albert is great to deal with. His international postage is cheap and arrives very quickly.
+Nathan Strum #5 Posted December 21, 2006 I agree - three cheers indeed! Albert is doing a ton of work to get people's games burnt onto EEPROMs, assembled into carts, tested, packed and shipped. He has to print a huge stack of labels and manuals that have to be folded, trimmed and stapled. He doesn't have an army of elves to help him out, either. Brian R. #6 Posted December 21, 2006 (edited) Buying from the Atari Age store is just as good as buying from any kind of "major" retailer. Top notch all the way around. I love that he doesn't try to rip us off on postage - you pay what it actually costs. Everything is well packaged and sent quickly. Quite amazing. I'm not sure what kind of operation he has, if he does this solo, or what, but he's a pro. And of course, the products are just as good if not better than anything the major companies put out "back in the day." And when I seemed to get a flaky Lady Bug cart, a true rarity, he replaced it. (Al - Ever find out what was wrong with that cart?) This site, and its store, help keep Atari alive. Edited December 21, 2006 by Brian R.
Albert #7 Posted December 21, 2006 Albert is doing a ton of work to get people's games burnt onto EEPROMs, assembled into carts, tested, packed and shipped. He has to print a huge stack of labels and manuals that have to be folded, trimmed and stapled. He doesn't have an army of elves to help him out, either. The AlphaGraphics elves are helping out tomorrow doing the finishing work on several hundred manuals. Unfortunately there aren't any elves to help with the bulk of the work (which is actually manufacturing the carts). ..Al
Albert #8 Posted December 21, 2006 Just wanted to say three cheers for Albert! Of all the games I have ordered in the past two years all have been recieved in a timely manner and just as advertised, all the carts look EXTREMELY professional and function flawlessly. Unfortunately the latest batch of store orders (for the holiday sale) aren't getting out as quickly as I would have liked, due to various and sundry reasons. But I am working as much as I can on them. I will be eating, breathing, drinking carts for the next several days. Oh, and manuals. Hats off to the Old Man From Tejas! WP Thanks for the kind words. I'm not from Texas, though. (New York!) ..Al

Inky #10 Posted December 21, 2006 You know what? I've been here for many years, and I have yet to order anything from the AA store. I'll have to rectify that soon.
Crazy Climber #11 Posted December 21, 2006 I ordered a few games and they showed up quick and in great condition, Thanks dude

joeybastard #14 Posted December 21, 2006 Besides his fine work for the AA Store, let's not forget Al puts up with a lot of nonsense on these boards with class and fairness. Of course since I've been responsible for some of that nonsense maybe I should shut up before he changes his mind
elviticus #15 Posted December 21, 2006 I've gotten a bunch of stuff from the store - every time excellent all the way 'round. Thanks Albert!
Shawn #16 Posted December 21, 2006 I've spent about $1k in the AA store in the lasy 2 years and every single order was nothing less than perfection.
shadow460 #17 Posted December 22, 2006 Of course since I've been responsible for some of that nonsense maybe I should shut up before he changes his mind Changes his mind and what...goes Gestapo on us all? With the workload he's got in the store right now, I don't see how he could keep his sanity. He's probably got a day job on top of that, too. @Inky: Yes, you do need to rectify that situation soon, for the same reason I did: Many of the carts are limited release, and with the buzz surrounding Reindeer Rescue last, oh, about, June, plus my desire to own a complete 7800 collection, I decided I'd better hop on board while Santa Simon is available, and grab up Pac Man Collection and (hopefully) Beef Drop while I still have the chance. lowscore #20 Posted December 22, 2006 Greetings, I don't wanna butt in, being all green and all, but I just recieved my first of probobly dozens of shipments of high quality games (Thrust+, Castle Wolfenstien, Hunchy II, and Skeleton+.) I have only been collecting Atari for a little over a month and had no idea new games existed. My GF and I cannot get enough of Thrust+. The addiction which I have found in this hobby over a short period of time is amazing. I am assuming Albert is the guy responsible for much of this, to which I say a Great Big Thank You!!! shadow460 #21 Posted December 22, 2006 Yes, Al is the paintball playing, classic gaming, store managing guy who's our administrator. After over a year on here, I still don't know a lot about him. In the couple of brief PM conversations I've had with him, I've discovered he is a likeable fellow.
carmel_andrews #22 Posted December 22, 2006 I know that this is an a2600 forum...I haven't seem Albert and co stock anything for the Atari 8bit....it's still an atari isn't it Perhaps Albert will rectify that next year and can experience the great service that you peeps seem to be experiencing I notice though the AA mainly and only deals with software and printed matter, what about getting into hardware...or even better as AA is one of the leading if not the leading Atari related websites or atari related forums, why not offer an 'eBay' alike service...but also covering 'non' atari product as well

At least that's the way it seems. tjb
