Would anyone mind comparing 5200 M.U.L.E. to the NES version?

I think that was one of the games converted and put on cart but never dumped as a rom.

 

I could swear I read that here in another thread when looking for the Fast Eddie conversion

 

Bryan did make a limited edition run of MULE cartridges. He also released the rom image, you can find it here:

I like the 5200/8-bit version better. I have both. The NES one looks funky, and looses most of the charm of the original IMHO.

 

The music on the the 5200 one is great, one of the most memorable tunes of the era. Used to get it stuck in my head after we had a neighborhood get together to play it as a kid.

C64 version is missing something IMO.

 

The 4-player mode? Only 2 joystick ports on the 64... or was there some workaround for it? (Paddles, keyboard?)

 

C64 uses keyboard for two of the players during the buy/sell part. I think you trade joysticks with players 1 or 2 during your actual turn IIRC.
