Flojomojo #1 Posted December 29, 2006 I would love to load a mini-epic onto my PSP now that it can play Playstation games. Problem is, I don't have a ton of time or patience. I've read that Final Fantasy VII is great but takes 50 hours to complete. 50 hours on a linear path? I'm not sure I can do that ... I'm not completely ADHD: I've finished Knights of the Old Republic, Panzer Dragoon Saga, and many years ago, Phantasy Star III and both NES Zelda games. Can someone recommend something with style, fun, but not too much length? I'm looking at: Lunar Final Fantasy VII (just to see what all the hype is about; I started it back in '98 or so but found it annoying at the time) Diablo Vagrant Story Alundra Grandia or maybe I should just do something like Metal Gear or Fear Effect? Thanks for any advice!

Flojomojo #3 Posted December 29, 2006 Hmmm ... I should have specified I'm not into shock-n-gore like Resident Evil. Is it more suspense or horror, would you say?
Gabriel #4 Posted December 29, 2006 Well, FF7 isn't very long unless you go for the Chocobo breeding, Knights of the Round, and Weapon killing stuff. I recall Vandal Hearts being pretty short. It's a Tactical RPG.
JB #5 Posted December 29, 2006 If you want a short RPG, grab Parasite Eve. It's a fun game, and can be beaten easily in a week. (Of course, after you beat it you unlock the Chrysler Building, which is gonna take significantly more time, and gets a different ending...) Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is a good action-RPG. You NEED to add Valkyrie Profile to your plans. The game kicks ass. (And there's no shame in hitting a cheat guide to get the A ending. The game's absurdly unhelpful on the subject.) You've got some pretty good games on your list. Not sure I'd file them as short, though. Alundra's action-adventure. But good. Personally, I dislike the PlayStation Lunar games. I'm more of a SegaCD guy on that franchise. But they're still reasonably decent games. FF7... won't live up to the hype. It's reasonably fun for a FF-style RPG, but it's not God's gift to gaming. If you intend to play a PS1 FF, make it FF9.
xenomorpher #6 Posted December 29, 2006 Is it more suspense or horror, would you say? It is exactly that. I honestly didn't think Resident Evil was scary. Silent Hill however is very suspenseful with the flashlight and even the radio static is creepy. Play it in the dark.
Flojomojo #7 Posted December 29, 2006 Thanks for the recommendations, everyone! I'm still waiting for my big memory card, but UPS says it should be here soon.

I may need to play it again as when I first played it and beat it... it was the Japanese version and I could not read the storyline. I had no clue about the Chrysker Building thing. God there are so many games I need to spend more time with
