XBOX 360 beats Wii and PS3 this Xmas

I've never noticed handhelds out-selling consoles before. A trend or just the circumstances involving two new consoles?

 

I might be wrong, but isn't the Gameboy the highest selling of all time?

Maybe, if you count all three versions (GB/GBC/GBA). I thought that the PS1 and PS2 were the all time numbers 1 & 2? And of course all the other handhelds that existed never sold that well. I can't believe that the GBC/Game Gear/Neo Geo Pocket handhelds out-sold the PS1/Saturn/N64.

You'd have to include all 3 for sure if you go by the data on Wiki

 

GB had sold like over 60 million units.

GBC like 50 million.

GBA over 70 million.

 

The PS1 has sold aroubd 100 million and the PS2 like 110 million

On a side note while wandering today I noticed.

 

Toys -r- us actually had signs up sayin "We have the PS3 in stock". The had a display full of boxes placed near the entrance where the customer would see it when coming in. Since their boxes are empty I have no clue exactly how many they had. I did ask if a guy if any wii were available and he said no.

 

At Best Buy I counted exactly 9 PS3's sitting on the display store. Didn't bother seeing which were 60 or 20 gig models.

there r stil plenty of PS3's at my EB also, theyve haD THEM IN STOCK SINCE CHRISTMAS! THEN AGAIN, I AM LIVING IN MARION, OHIO SO THAT COULD BE THE REASON.
