jbanes #26 Posted February 5, 2007 I think the Bestiality alone makes the game aweful.. Sonic and a human love interest? WTF Am I the only one who thinks that they should have used the SatAM universe to flesh out the 3D Sonic games rather than inventing the whole Sonic X crud? The SatAM stories provided a rich universe with clear motivations, well developed characters, instant tie-ins, familiarity, and (best of all) American appeal. That last point is particularly important as (from what I've been told) Sonic was far more popular with American audiences than it was with Japanese. Rather than running with their success, Sega (or was it the Sonic Team?) decided that they needed to improve the popularity in Japan rather than running with the rather sizeable audience they had in the U.S. Anything past the 2D Sonic games just doesn't "feel" like Sonic to me. And now I constantly have to correct my kids that it's "Robotnik" not "Eggman". It's really too bad that Sonic Xtreme failed to make it out the door. Being more of a straight-up translation to 3D, I think it could have done for transistioning Sonic to 3D what Mario 64 did for the Mario series. Too bad that understaffing and a case of pnuemonia did the game in.
Ross PK #27 Posted February 5, 2007 I actually like Shadow The Hedgehog but those load times on Sonic look no fun at all.
Jess Ragan #28 Posted February 6, 2007 Once you actually play the game, you'll be begging for those load times. You know, because they keep you from having to play it. JR
