I don't know about that, and that would seem to be hearsay to me. I think there were and probably are some abuses of "Mormonism" in relation to polygimist practices that are part of the reason why the organized religion likes to be called The Church of LDS and disassociated with Mormonism, more or less, but I don't think it is fair to lump all Mormons together in this respect. One of the things that BOTH sides came to an agreement on, is that the vast majority of Mormons are "Really Good People" who honestly believe in their religion and try to follow the path that it recommends in their daily life.

 

I think there is also a little bit of "Mainstream Christian" persecution of Mormonism as well, which is part of the reason they ended up in Utah, in the first place.

 

If I were the ultimate power in the world, going through and cleansing the world of the wicked influence of organized religion, Mormonism wouldn't be the highest on my priorities of "Those That Must Go". I'd get around to them... but there are a bunch of folks I'd like to see go first.

I'm sure in *any* church of any denomination you can find examples of this and *other* wrongs where people within the church have protected their own from outside consequences. So have the Boyscouts... and International Corporate Conglomorates... and Country Clubs... and the Kennedy's (on dozens of occasions).

 

Even if it isn't hearsay, it is small minded to assume that there is something *special* wrong with Mormonism compared to any other organization of humanity.

Very true. But I'm not defending them either. They make me sick. Molester priests are the absolute scum of the earth. I cant really think of anything lower. Honestly I cant think of anything that makes me more sick/angry

For what it's worth, this is just barely possible for it to have actually happened.

 

There are incidents from time to time of a stack of DVDs getting the wrong label put on them during the manufacturing process. The first I heard of it was less than a year after DVD was first available, and there were reports of a disk with movie A on its label having movie B on the disc, and also a disk with movie B on its label having movie A on the disc. So apparently a couple of spindles just got swapped.

 

Somewhere out there, there must be some guy hoping to spank the monkey to some porn, who just bought a DVD and it won't play. If he's smart he may notice the XBox logo on the hub of the disc. But in any case, imagine if you paid money for porn and all you got was John Madden.

 

(actually, don't XBox games have a small "this disc is only for the xbox" clip that plays when you put them in a regular DVD player, or is that only the magazine bundle discs?)
