Yep, those are pictures of my actual unit. The "Coleco" logo really strikes me as odd too. Was this a new logo style that they were experimenting with or something? It looks nothing like the standard "red text on white background" that they were using during that time period....

That's absolutely beautiful. I think Marco just picked one up too and the box was in great shape from what I saw, but here everything is still sealed. Very cool.

Interesting... my family has/had that exact same tape player/recorder, just without the "kid vid" stuff on it. (I had never really looked at the kid vid tape player before) Anyway, congrats!

 

Coleco did sell the Kid Vid tape player as a regular old stand-alone tape player. I know because I have a boxed / complete one. It even has the special Kid Vid port on the side. It's the only one I've ever seen, so I'm guessing they didn't sell very many of them (that or else most people just threw them away).

 

If I remember right, it wasn't even branded by Colecovision - I think it was a JCPenney's tape player! (and my memory isn't failing me on what it looked like, either - I'm sure of at least that much) I'll have to see if I can find a picture of it somewhere (fat chance)
