onkyo_emu #1 Posted January 7, 2007 I'm looking for a racing sim that's close to Gran Turismo for the PS or Sega GT for the DC. I saw GTR2 today and it seemed close, but not quite what I wanted. Any help? Thanks!
Flojomojo #2 Posted January 7, 2007 Why compromise? Just play GT on your PC with ePSXe.
onkyo_emu #3 Posted January 7, 2007 (edited) I did...and beat it with the exception of 2 or 3 cars. I'm looking for something bit more modern. Maybe I should have said I'm looking for something like GT4 for the PC. Native widescreen support would be icing on the cake too. Atariboy #4 Posted January 7, 2007 GTR2 is a sim that simulates real racing, not something that just tries to give you lots of cars to drive with a blend of arcade and realism that the Gran Turismo series offers. So probably best that you passed on GTR2, only thing is has to offer that a GT fan is likely looking for is cars, everything else is really different. My favorite PC racing game was almost pure arcade. It's 1998 Sega Rally. It's not 100% realistic, but it's a lot of fun.
onkyo_emu #6 Posted January 7, 2007 Okay, I'll pass on GTR2. I guess what I'm looking for is the simulation experience that GT has to offer. I like the idea of having to buy a POS Daewoo or something, sinking some cash into it to make it barely win a race and then build upon those winnings. Oh well, I'll cruise Compusa and see if anything catches my eye.
liveinabin #7 Posted January 8, 2007 Well, considering the price of a decent gaming PC these days, you might as well buy a car. That's better simulation that GT.
